Diarmuid Manning – RIP<\/p>\n
Tributes are pouring in for a Cork dad and ‘true gentleman’ who died in a tragic workplace accident this week.<\/a><\/p>\n Diarmuid Manning from Kilmore, Bandon<\/a>, was pronounced dead at a farm in the area on Thursday 11th December after suffering fatal injuries when a wall collapsed. Another man was seriously injured in the incident, and was rushed to Cork University Hospital<\/a> for treatment. The Health and Safety Authority launched an investigation into the tragic accident.<\/p>\n Condolences have been pouring in for Diarmuid’s family over the past few days, with many of the Cork dad’s friends and loved ones remembering him as a “loving husband and father” who was always “full of enthusiasm.” Diarmuid is dearly missed by his wife Mary, his children Ella and Michael, his parents Carmel and Michael, his brother and sisters Olivia, Michelle, Michael and Sinead (Hickey), parents-in-law, his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, colleagues and wide circle of friends.<\/p>\n In his funeral notice on RIP.ie, the deceased’s family said they will be “forever grateful” to the emergency services who attended the scene of the accident on Thursday, including the ambulance crew, Garda\u00ed, Cork County Fire Service<\/a> firefighters, West Cork Rapid Response and Dr. Jason.<\/p>\n Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Diarmuid online following his passing. One person wrote: “Sincere sympathy to Carmel, Micheal and family and sincere sympathy to Mary, Ella and Michael. I fondly remember Diarmuid as a lovely 4 year old boy, full of enthusiasm and action, when I lived and worked on your farm. I met Diarmuid recently and he still had all those wonderful attributes.”<\/p>\n Another said: “Deepest sympathy to Mary, Ella, Michael and all the Manning and Nyhan families in the tragic passing of Diarmuid. He always had a smile on his face and always time for a chat. An intelligent and genuine man. May he rest in peace.”<\/p>\n And a third penned: “Mary, Ella, Michael and families. We ‘re devastated for you all. Diarmuid was a true gent, a kind and loving husband and father and a very patient man indeed collecting us on nights out! Sending you all our love and support. May Diarmuid rest in peace XXX.”<\/p>\n Diarmuid will be lying in repose at Gabriel and O’Donovan’s Funeral Home, Bandon on Sunday from 2pm followed by prayers at 5pm. His requiem Mass will take place on Monday at 12pm in St. Mary’s Church, Innishannon. Diarmuid will be laid to rest in the adjoining Cemetery.<\/p>\n
