St. Dominic\u2019s All-Ireland camogie hopes fell at the last hurdle as Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga Glenravel claimed a five-point victory.<\/p>\n
Torie Edgar\u2019s accuracy procured a second AIB All-Ireland junior club camogie title for Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga Glenravel in three years.<\/p>\n
The Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga captain hit 0-7, including six frees, to guide her side to victory. As St Dominic\u2019s were left to rue eight second-half wides.<\/p>\n
The winners had built up a seven-point buffer at the break, thanks to five points from Edgar and Molly Woulahan\u2019s opportunist goal in the 22nd minute.<\/p>\n
To St. Dominic\u2019s credit, they arrested their opponents\u2019 momentum in the second half but they simply couldn\u2019t turn hard-earned possession into scores.<\/p>\n
Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga enjoyed the aid of the elements in the opening half. Although Dominic\u2019s held firm in the opening quarter, the Antrim champions, in particular Edgar, began to punish indiscretions.<\/p>\n
Edgar worked the scoreboard inside a minute with a point from play, but Dominic\u2019s half-back line of Hannah Murray, Lilly Murray and Aim\u00e9e O\u2019Connor came thundering into the contest.<\/p>\n
A brace of Fitzgerald free had catapulted John Haughey\u2019s side 0-2 to 0-1 in front after seven minutes. However, the Knockcroghery side wouldn\u2019t trouble the scoreboard again for the remainder of the half.<\/p>\n
Slowly, but surely, Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga, led by midfield duo Leona Gillan and Orlaith Gould, began to turn the screw. A hat-trick of Edgar frees between the 13th and 19th minutes edged her side two points in front.<\/p>\n
Then, in the 22nd minute, another free from the captain cannoned back off the post, and Molly Woulahan reacted quickest to find the net. There was still time for Edgar to pitch in with her fourth free of the half before Sarah Fyfe clipped over a delightful point on the call of half-time.<\/p>\n

To their credit, Dominic\u2019s did everything in their power to try and furrow a way back into proceedings. Fitzgerald\u2019s mishit 35-metre free, which ended up in the net, was the perfect tonic.<\/p>\n
But chances came and went, and they couldn\u2019t erode the deficit to no more than three points at any stage.<\/p>\n
Kaitlin Egan\u2019s tour-de-force was one of the primary reasons why her side began to win more possession, and she scored one of the points of the game with 12 minutes remaining.<\/p>\n
At this stage, every ball was contested with fierce ferocity but Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga were able to keep Dominic\u2019s at arm\u2019s length despite just two second-half frees from Edgar.<\/p>\n
Lilly Murray\u2019s free in injury time left three points between the sides but there wasn\u2019t enough time for Dominic\u2019s to manufacture another attack to try and get the goal they needed to rescue the game as Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga held on for a hard-fought victory. Br\u00edd\u00edn\u00ed \u00d3ga Glenravel win out 2-7 to 1-5.<\/p>\n
