{"id":190330,"date":"2025-12-13T21:02:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T21:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/190330\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T21:02:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T21:02:06","slug":"body-recovered-in-search-for-missing-teenager-benjamin-spot-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/190330\/","title":{"rendered":"Body recovered in search for missing teenager Benjamin Spot \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A body has been recovered in the search for a 14-year-old boy who was reported missing from Navan, Co <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/meath\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/meath\/\">Meath<\/a>, last month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Benjamin Spot was last seen on his bicycle in Market Square, heading towards Kentstown Road or the Ramparts area of Navan, at about 5.55pm on Wednesday, November 19th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">His bicycle was found at the Ramparts the following day, prompting intensive searches of the nearby Boyne river.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Meath River Rescue recovered a body from the river Boyne earlier on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The remains were taken from the water at Beauparc, between Navan and Slane, with the assistance of the Garda Water Unit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na confirmed on Saturday Benjamin had been located deceased, and the appeal for information on his whereabouts stood down following the discovery of the body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Meath River Rescue had been on the river searching for the missing boy since November 20th.
