A woman in her 60s has been killed in a road collision in East Cork.<\/p>\n
The woman, who is understood to be from the northside of Cork City, was one of two people travelling in a car which was in collision with a 4×4 vehicle on the N25 near the Lakeview Roundabout in Midleton at 6.15pm on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
The second person in the car, a man, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was being treated for serious injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver of the 4×4 was treated at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.<\/p>\n
An autopsy is expected to be carried out on the woman\u2019s body on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The road has been closed and will remain closed overnight, ahead of a forensic collision investigation at the scene on Tuesday morning. Diversions have been put in place.<\/p>\n
