\u201cGrant is the provider and protector of the home,\u201d she said. \u201cI get to come under his care in a way that\u2019s not like, \u2018Oh, I have to,\u2019 but in a way where I feel safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added, \u201cFor me, there\u2019s this respect and this honoring that I give Grant, not because I have to, [but] because it\u2019s the way in which God calls us to and in the way that I truly have found to feel the freest and the most content in our marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the end, Madi considers her submission to mean she has \u201chonor\u201d and \u201crespect\u201d for Grant and that the pair \u201chave equal rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNot one person is more important than the other, not one person has a bigger voice than the other, not one person has the dominating authority over the other,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have the same rights. We just have different roles.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat God calls for when you get married is there to be a laying your life down for one another, a service to one another,\u201d Madi concluded. \u201cYou\u2019re serving the other person. You\u2019re not just thinking about yourself all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n
