A well-known former bar is being advertised for rent as a “superb Creche opportunity.” The former District 11 bar in Glanmire is being redeveloped as a new childcare facility in the growing Cork city <\/a>suburb.<\/p>\n

The pub property<\/a> at Crestfield Shopping Centre was previously a very popular bar and restaurant with an adjoining off-licence shop. Back in June 2024, it hit the market with a \u20ac1.9m price tag and was seeking a new owner to take over after more than a decade. The building was built and fitted out as a restaurant <\/a>in 2002 and has previously been home to popular food businesses, including Bar BK2, which went for lease in 2012, and, most recently, late bar District 11.<\/p>\n

The former pub <\/a>is now up for rent with Lisney and is being redeveloped into a new creche and adjoining bank. Full Planning Permission has been granted for the development of a creche, and the premises are currently in \u201ca shell and core\u201d state and will require a full fitout. The creche will be located on part of the ground floor and the entire first floor.<\/p>\n

Letting agent Amanda Isherwood describes it as a “superb creche opportunity” in an area that is “currently experiencing a shortage of childcare places.” Glanmire’s fast-growing population now exceeds 15,000, and there is a huge demand for childcare availability.
