An urgent recall has been issued for two popular Christmas<\/a> snacks after safety checks found they could pose a serious risk to some consumers.<\/p>\n The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is advising certain people who purchased the items to stop eating them<\/a> immediately.<\/p>\n This recall affects multiple batches of Le Paysan Smoked Salmon Pate and Le Paysan Smoked Mackerel Pate, which are sold in various Irish supermarkets, <\/a>including SuperValu, where they retail for \u20ac5.50 and \u20ac4.75, respectively.<\/p>\n Safety chiefs discovered undeclared sulphur dioxide and incorrectly declared milk in specific batches, which could pose a risk to individuals with allergies.<\/p>\n It comes just days before Christmas, with these pates being a popular choice for entertaining, often served on crackers, toast or as part of a festive grazing board.<\/p>\n The FSAI said: “The below batches of Le Paysan Smoked Salmon Pate and Le Paysan Smoked Mackerel Pate contain sulphur dioxide, which is not declared in the list of ingredients. Milk is also not emphasised in the ingredients list. This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of sulphur dioxide and\/or milk, and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated batches. The warning was issued for a popular alcoholic spirit that costs \u20ac27 due to fears that it could be laced with glass.<\/a><\/p>\n The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued a “do not drink” warning for specific batches of Disaronno Originale 500 Years that come packaged in limited-edition bottles. The recall was triggered after concerns that micro-fragments of glass may be present inside the bottles.<\/p>\n Disaronno, marketed as ‘The World’s Favourite Italian Liqueur’, is a favourite in many Irish homes, especially during the festive season.<\/p>\n It is widely available across Irish supermarkets<\/a> and off-licences, including Tesco<\/a>, where it is on sale for \u20ac27, and Dunnes Stores, where it is currently priced at \u20ac25.
