\n\tFollowing Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s address to the nation Wednesday night \u2014 during which he spent nearly 20 minutes defending his handling of inflation and tariffs, while boasting about his alleged triumphs in 2025 \u2014 Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> slammed the president\u2019s \u201csurprise primetime episode of The Worst Wing.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYesterday, the president announced he\u2019d be giving an impromptu liar side chat tonight in the middle of the season finales of Survivor and The Floor he interrupted,\u201d continued the host during his Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>! monologue. \u201cIt\u2019s weird to think that had a couple of states just gone the other way, he\u2019d be hosting one of those shows. Trump shouldn\u2019t be preempting the floor. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!\u201d After reading the president\u2019s post, Kimmel quipped, \u201cI agree the Epstein files are due on Friday.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe president\u2019s year-end speech on Wednesday arrived amid his declining<\/a> approval rating as many Americans across the country worry about inflation and the cost of living despite Trump\u2019s campaign promises to lower prices and \u201cmake America affordable again<\/a>.\u201d As his first term comes to an end, just 36 percent of Americans approve of the president\u2019s handling of the economy, according to a new\u00a0NPR\/PBS News\/Marist poll<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tTrump is also embroiled in controversy over his alleged ties to the late convicted sex offender\u00a0Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>.
