In this edition, you\u2019ll learn about Niecy Nash, the Emmy-winning actor best known for playing Raineesha Williams on Reno 911! since 2003 and starring frequently in Ryan Murphy projects like Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Grotesquerie, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/alls-fair-review-ryan-murphy-hulu.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All\u2019s Fair<\/a>. She can currently be seen playing Emerald Greene on the latter, which was just renewed for a second season on Hulu. <\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000l0ie4vy0k41rn@published\" data-word-count=\"43\">I don\u2019t usually eat or drink right before I go to bed. But if I had to choose \u2014 this is going to be a big stretch, okay? \u2014 I would say either water or a margarita. Maybe a combo. But not food.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000n0ie45ykegs08@published\" data-word-count=\"79\">Oh, wow. I feel like my religion would be one word: love. Period. Point blank. End of story. That is the driving force behind all things. I firmly believe that it is the thing that we were created for, but it\u2019s the place where we struggle the most. So just love \u2014\u00a0showing people how to love better, harder, and stronger, how to enjoy it when it shows up, and how to recognize it when it knocks on the door.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000p0ie4ftgkhq1z@published\" data-word-count=\"52\">It would probably be my own, first of all. It would probably be shapewear. I\u2019m working on something. I feel like curvy girls have different issues, and I would like to address those in a way that is also very fetching to look at if your clothes just happen to fall off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000r0ie4kzpcthuo@published\" data-word-count=\"25\">I don\u2019t have a lot of fears, so I would probably say what happens when we transition from this life to the next \u2014\u00a0the uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000t0ie4cboxz2t7@published\" data-word-count=\"91\">I just found out that my series, All\u2019s Fair, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/alls-fair-season-2-renewed.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">green-lit for season two<\/a>, and we haven\u2019t even finished airing the first season. I was so happy. The fact that we have been number one internationally since our debut is crazy town \u2014 especially since the critics said we were trash. But the public showed up and said, \u201cAh ah ah, not so fast.\u201d The public has given them a response, so I don\u2019t need to give them a response. I just need to show up for season two looking cute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000v0ie4y2var0ct@published\" data-word-count=\"45\">The last thing I read was a script this morning. It\u2019s something I\u2019m interested in producing. I love voices unheard and stories untold. And if I start to read something, and it makes me want to read it out loud, I know I\u2019m locked in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000x0ie4pqlhg43l@published\" data-word-count=\"126\">It was a pair of Christian Dior slides. I couldn\u2019t find them anywhere, so I found them on a resale site where this woman had barely worn them. I don\u2019t even know if she took them out of the box. Then I got them home,\u00a0and they\u2019re still on this shelf back here. I don\u2019t even wear the shoes. I don\u2019t even know why I had to have them. What happened was I broke my ankle, and I had to get shoes that I could wear after the break. But then the shoes I couldn\u2019t wear anymore, I love looking at them so much that I couldn\u2019t bear to throw them out. So some of the shoes you see back there are just pretty to look at.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32000z0ie4odpd9mvc@published\" data-word-count=\"65\">I had a driver that was very difficult for me to listen to because he was very rude, curt, and short. I tried not to hold onto it too much, but I do remember he was just very snappy, and I was like, \u201cWhoa, who are you talking to? How about just stop talking and let\u2019s just drive. Because that\u2019s what this is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb3200110ie472hso1r0@published\" data-word-count=\"38\">A place I probably will never return to in life is Fiji. My experience there was not very friendly toward LGBTQ+, just with how they do things and how they operate there. I didn\u2019t enjoy it so much.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb3200130ie46ff4693k@published\" data-word-count=\"25\">I sure do. Ava DuVernay, Sherri Shepherd \u2026 I\u2019ve got a couple folks who I could show up to for as long as I needed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb3200150ie4kqd7b0h9@published\" data-word-count=\"35\">I\u2019m a big fan of The Bear. I would love to either come in there as someone\u2019s unexpected love interest, or some rival restauranteur \u2014 a rival mom-and-pop that opens up next door making biscuits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb3200170ie45xluw92z@published\" data-word-count=\"59\">I would like to quit delaying working out. I want to stop the procrastination of it. Because, in my mind, I work out! But I want to stop it from being in my mind and manifest it in my life. But I don\u2019t have the strategy. That\u2019s why it ain\u2019t happen yet. I\u2019d rather just stop eating. It\u2019s easier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb3200190ie4ergjirwx@published\" data-word-count=\"54\">Oprah. I would consider her a friend, and I just feel like she\u2019s sat at the feet of some of the great minds and thinkers in life. She\u2019s had amazing mentors, and so instead of trying to go around to all those folks, I\u2019d just one-stop shop in her brain and get the collective.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001b0ie48d1yx5fa@published\" data-word-count=\"75\">I don\u2019t know if I did anything this week. We might have to go back a few weeks. I was very, very upset at the experience I had at a hotel, and I spoke to the manager in a tone that was a little too strong for my liking. So I went downstairs to apologize, but he wasn\u2019t there. I told a third party, \u201cTell him I said \u2026\u201d I\u2019d definitely say I regret that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001d0ie49er7dwl5@published\" data-word-count=\"111\">I\u2019m not typically a jealous person. If I had to pick a thing, it would be my family members who can sing. Because if I had the ability to be a triple threat, listen, my head wouldn\u2019t fit through the door. So I guess the Lord was like, \u201cDon\u2019t give her that, because if she gets that too, it\u2019s a wrap.\u201d I\u2019d probably just sing everywhere. I would sing my Starbucks order. I\u2019d sing at baby showers, bar mitzvahs \u2026 I can carry a tune, but it\u2019s not the same as my family members. There\u2019s singing, and then there\u2019s what you call, in my community, people who can sang. That\u2019s different.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001f0ie43oaylp6c@published\" data-word-count=\"2\">Probably five.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001h0ie4kzidnqrv@published\" data-word-count=\"26\">Mexico. I just spend a lot of time there because it\u2019s so close to L.A. I love Puerto Vallarta, so that\u2019s probably where I would go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001j0ie4x80adzqn@published\" data-word-count=\"71\">I\u2019m trying to think of the people I don\u2019t like. I guess the short answer would be that it\u2019s okay that they don\u2019t like me, and it\u2019s really okay if I don\u2019t like them. I think a lot of people live in that space where they need everyone in their orbit to like them or to be amenable. And sometimes it\u2019s just not going to be the case, and that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001l0ie4zcicmsfl@published\" data-word-count=\"43\">I haven\u2019t had breakfast yet. I\u2019m not a big breakfast person. But I\u2019m more of a savory gal, so if I was going to have breakfast, it would probably be some sort of spicy omelet, or a very simple bacon, eggs, and avocado.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001n0ie46fr2e5vm@published\" data-word-count=\"88\">This is hard to quantify, because everything is funny. I literally laugh every single day. I\u2019m the person you don\u2019t want to sit next to at a funeral if you don\u2019t want to laugh, because I can just find something, anything that\u2019s funny. When I work with my friends \u2014 we still get together sometimes and do Reno 911! \u2014 those are some of the funniest people I\u2019ve ever met in my life. I won\u2019t laugh and ruin a take, but once they say, \u201cCut,\u201d it\u2019s all funny!<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001p0ie4foioe2uj@published\" data-word-count=\"14\">Children starving, babies crying, and anyone who feels hopeless is not funny at all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001r0ie43voydo7e@published\" data-word-count=\"43\">My spouse. It\u2019s my truth! Just yesterday, I looked over and I was like, \u201cOh my God, you\u2019re so fine! You\u2019re just so beautiful.\u201d She was like, \u201cWhat? Where\u2019d that come from?\u201d I was like, \u201cI\u2019m just telling you like I see it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001t0ie4uoaugvmk@published\" data-word-count=\"78\">People who go out of their way to be mean. It\u2019s like, Why? I remember my daughter got the award for \u201cMost Kind.\u201d Everybody was getting scholastic awards, and she got the award for \u201cStudent Who\u2019s the Most Kind.\u201d Me and my mama jumped up and told all the other parents, \u201cThey don\u2019t teach \u2018kind\u2019 in school. She got that at home!\u201d I just think when people go out of their way to be unkind, it\u2019s so ugly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001v0ie4qwr0nhvy@published\" data-word-count=\"29\">I don\u2019t think there is enough where I wouldn\u2019t need to work again, because I don\u2019t work solely for the money. I work for the love of the art.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmiywlb32001x0ie44b50nsnm@published\" data-word-count=\"33\">Old age. I\u2019m going to probably live until I\u2019m 100, and then I\u2019m just going to lie down, go to sleep, and that\u2019s going to be it.
