Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren are back in character as the villainous Harrigans as Guy Ritchie gets to work filming MobLand<\/a> season 2.<\/p>\n

Set photos from the streets of London show MobLand star Mirren decked out in fur and leather for her role as scheming gangster family matriarch Maeve Harrigan. Brosnan cuts a similarly stylish figure as mob boss Conrad. See the images from The Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MobLand executive producer and episode director Ritchie appears as well, walking alongside Brosnan as the two apparently discuss the scene they\u2019re filming.<\/p>\n

Mirren can be seen striding along a sidewalk while toting a giant leather bag, while in another shot she wears a focused expression while aiming a key fob.<\/p>\n

Still another shot shows Mirren embracing co-star Anson Boon, who plays Conrad and Maeve\u2019s troublesome son Eddie, as the two stand outside a caf\u00e9. The pair is seen again in a shot peeping through a window into the caf\u00e9, apparently filming a scene where Eddie presents Maeve with a satchel.<\/p>\n

What could be inside the satchel is anyone\u2019s guess, as plot details about MobLand season 2<\/a> are being kept under wraps.<\/p>\n

Further photos from the same collection show Mirren in between filming scenes, wearing a padded vest over her fur and leopard-print combo. Another shot shows Mirren getting out of the backseat of a car while holding a small white coffee cup.<\/p>\n

MobLand season 1 arrived on Paramount+ in 2025, and surged to a 76% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating generally favorable reviews.<\/p>\n

Critics praised the performances of Brosnan and Mirren, alongside co-stars Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, and others. Reviewers were keen on the show\u2019s twisty plot, which delivered plenty of entertainment value despite the story\u2019s general lack of originality.<\/p>\n

Negative reviews criticized Ritchie and company for falling back on overly-familiar crime drama tropes.<\/p>\n

ScreenRant\u2019s review of MobLand season 1, episode 10<\/a> sums up the entirety of the season in scathing fashion, calling the show \u201cboring,\u201d while ripping the characters for being basically interchangeable and ultimately having no arcs to speak of.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing matters in MobLand, and in the season finale, that’s probably more true than ever,\u201d the review accuses.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ gave the go-ahead for MobLand season 2 after a successful first season that saw the premiere break the streamer\u2019s viewership record for a launch episode with 2.2 million global viewers.<\/p>\n

In addition to all the returning MobLand season 1 cast members<\/a>, season 2 is adding Johnny Flynn and Ophelia Lovibond as series regulars.<\/p>\n
