Garda\u00ed have confirmed that a male juvenile recovered from the River Finn in Stranolar last night has passed away.<\/p>\n
A major search and rescue operation got underway yesterday evening after emergency services responded to reports of a person entering the river at Drumboe Woods shortly before 5:40pm. The Coast Guard Rescue 118 helicopter was also brought in to assist the mission.<\/p>\n
\u201cA male juvenile was taken from the water and brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead,\u201d a garda spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cA post-mortem examination will be arranged and a file will be prepared for the Coroner\u201d.<\/p>\n
Donegal Daily understands that the boy is in his early teens and is from the locality.<\/p>\n
Funeral arrangements will be confirmed later.<\/p>\n
