\n\tNate Bargatze<\/a> faces plenty of problems \u2014 not the least of which involves a horse exploring his home \u2014 in the trailer<\/a> for the forthcoming comedy The Breadwinner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tSony<\/a> releases director Eric Appel<\/a>\u2018s feature in theaters March 13, 2026. Mandy Moore<\/a>, Colin Jost<\/a>, Kumail Nanjiani<\/a>, Will Forte, Zach Cherry<\/a>, Martin Herlihy and Kate Berlant round out the cast.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Breadwinner centers on Nate Wilcox (Bargatze), a father of three young daughters. He is left in charge of the brood for an extended stretch when wife Katie (Moore) lands a coveted business deal after an appearance on Shark Tank<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m the top salesman at the dealership,\u201d Bargatze boasts in the trailer. \u201cI think I can handle a month alone with the girls. You act like I\u2019m gonna blow the house up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater, he admits, \u201cShe makes it look so easy, but it\u2019s so hard.\u201d And sure enough, an incident with that horse suggests that the patriarch may be in over his head. <\/p>\n

\n\tAppel (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story) helmed the movie from a script that Bargatze co-wrote with Dan Lagana. Bargatze, Lagana and Jeremy Latcham serve as producers. <\/p>\n

\n\tBargatze is one of the world\u2019s top-selling stand-up comedians and makes his feature film debut with The Breadwinner. This marks his first major project since hosting the Emmy Awards<\/a> ceremony in September.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s cover story on Bargatze<\/a> that published ahead of the Emmys, TriStar Pictures president Nicole Brown discussed The Breadwinner\u2019s appeal for the Sony label.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe idea of his first film being so personal and authentic to him and his comedy felt like the perfect foray, and he\u2019d really identified a space,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was like, \u2018I want to be able to watch a film with my whole family.
