Kerry people who want to play their part in restoring Ireland\u2019s natural environment are invited to take part in a special community event in Iveragh on Thursday and Friday, September 25 and 26.<\/p>\n
The free two-day event, to be held at Br\u00fa na Dromada in Iveragh, will take place as part of a nationwide conversation on shaping Ireland\u2019s Nature Restoration Plan.<\/p>\n
The Plan is aimed at meeting the EU Nature Restoration Law target of restoring at least 20 per cent of our land and sea areas by 2030, and this will only be possible with the help of local communities.<\/p>\n
The Iveragh event will be an open and welcoming space where community members can learn and share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas about the future of Ireland\u2019s natural environment.<\/p>\n
It will be part of a programme of events taking place throughout the country and online in September and October with support from Action for Nature, heading Ireland\u2019s effort to protect biodiversity, and nature restoration charity Hometree.<\/p>\n
The conversations at these events will allow people to help share the country\u2019s 25-year Nature Restoration Plan because the insights gathered will be brought to the Independent Advisory Committee, ensuring that community voices are heard in partnership with the National Parks and Wildlife Service.<\/p>\n
