Cinnamon passed away suddenly in her home on Tuesday, December 16 and will be sadly missed by her son Tom, treasured friends Muireann and Sarah, her friends and neighbours and Tom’s dad Ken and his family Avril, Barry, Kerrie and Amy.<\/p>\n
Cinnamon was widely known for her interest in politics, and for running in the 2019 local elections in Wexford. During her time involved in politics, Cinnamon campaigned against the scale-back of health services and lack of affordable accommodation in Gorey and nationwide.<\/p>\n
With a background as a carer for her son who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cinnamon was involved with Gorey’s Family Resource Centre and had been involved with Wexford Mental Health Warriors and Gorey’s Together for Yes campaign.<\/p>\n
She also set up a candlelight vigil for the women affected by the CervicalCheck, the Hepatitis C scandal, and for women left suffering from the consequences of episiotomies and vaginal mesh.<\/p>\n
Cinnamon was very active in her community, bringing parents of special needs children together for support, co-starting a special needs play group as well as fundraising events for a number of local charities.<\/p>\n
Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Joe Sulllivan expressed his sympathies to Cinnamon\u2019s family and praised her for her advocacy for people with disabilities. \u201cI would like to send condolences to her family, and all who are affected by her untimely passing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very sad to hear of the passing of Cinnamon at such a young age, a young woman of conviction and held opinions very strongly and worked hard for others not so fortunate.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her remains will be reposing at Murphy’s Funeral Home, The Avenue on Sunday, December 21 from 4pm, a Celebration of Life Service will take place at 6pm in Murphy’s Funeral Home. Cremation will take place privately.<\/p>\n
Cinnamon’s son and friends would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness at this sad time and are grateful for people to express messages of sympathy on the Condolence book on Rip.ie<\/p>\n
