A perfect new weekend binge-watch has just dropped on streaming \u2013 so be sure to add it to your watchlist. Italian series Stranded follows guests trapped in a luxury mountain resort after a natural disaster as “dark secrets” come to the fore.<\/p>\n

First premiering in 2023, all eight episodes of the “riveting” thriller have become available on Channel 4 via the Walter Presents label.<\/p>\n

Stranded sees an avalanche occur on Christmas Eve at a ski resort and village, leaving wealthy broker Giovanni \u2013 who has ties to a criminal organisation \u2013 trapped alongside his children.<\/p>\n

“Recognising another guest linked to the secrets of his dark past, Giovanni realises his double life is about to unravel and only fate will decide who makes it out alive,” the synopsis adds.<\/p>\n

The series stars Alessandro Preziosi, Eugenio Franceschini, Giulia Patrignani, Rike Schmid, Marco Rossetti, Aurora Ruffino and Federico Russo, and comes from creator Valerio D’Annunzio.<\/p>\n

In a three-star review, The Guardian<\/a> compared Stranded to “Agatha Christie, Lost and The White Lotus all at once”.<\/p>\n

“We have seen Euro-dramas with greater sophistication than Stranded and we\u2019ve certainly seen plenty of foreign crime shows with meatier mysteries to solve, but as a holiday from your regular Christmas drama fare, this Italian escape is diverting enough,” they added.<\/p>\n

If European thrillers are your thing and you’re looking for even more to watch, then Channel 4 has also just added Belgian series For Better or Worse<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The show follows a woman called Agathe whose “life becomes a pressure cooker of fear when her husband Fred is linked to a murder”, the synopsis further teasing: “Everyone has their demons, but just how dark are his?”<\/p>\n

Like Stranded, For Better or Worse was originally released in 2023, with all six episodes streaming via Walter Presents.<\/p>\n
