A man, 60s, has died following a road traffic collision in Co. Westmeath.<\/p>\n
The two vehicle crash occurred on Royal Canal Way at Cushinstown, Killucan shortly before 2.15pm on Friday.<\/p>\n
Following the collision, one of the drivers involved, a man in his 60s became unwell and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. None of the other occupants required treatment.<\/p>\n
The scene has been examined and the local coroner has been notified. A postmortem examination will be arranged. Results of the postmortem will assist Garda\u00ed in determining the course of the investigation.<\/p>\n
“Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them,” a spokesperson said on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
