George Clooney has revealed his sister, Ada, has died, aged 65, following her battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
The Hollywood star, 64, paid tribute to his “hero” sibling, Adelia Zeidler, known as Ada, saying both he and wife Amal would ‘miss her terribly’.<\/p>\n
Praising his sister for “facing cancer with courage and humour”, George told People magazine: “My sister, Ada, was my hero. She faced down cancer with courage and humour. I’ve never met anyone so brave. Amal and I will miss her terribly.”<\/p>\n
Ada passed away “peacefully” on Friday while “surrounded by the people she loved” at St Elizabeth healthcare in Kentucky, US.<\/p>\n

In addition to her parents Nick and Nina, “[Ada] leaves behind her beloved children, Nick Zeidler and Allison Zeidler Herolaga and her husband, Kenny; her brother, George Clooney<\/a> and his wife, Amal; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins,” her obituary read.<\/p>\n The mum-of-two, who was named after her great grandmother, was described in her obituary as a “talented artist”, who put her skills to use as an art teacher at Augusta Independent School in her hometown of Augusta, Kentucky, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n “In high school, her academic achievements qualified her to be a National Merit Scholar,” her online memorial read.<\/p>\n “Her love for reading connected her with other readers in a local book club.She was also a member of the Augusta Art Guild and was a past grand marshal of Augusta’s Annual White Christmas Parade.”<\/p>\n Unlike her younger brother, Ada led a life away from the limelight.<\/p>\n Despite her private lifestyle, she publicly supported George on numerous occasions, including attending his star-studded wedding to Amal in Venice in 2014.<\/p>\n Ada was photographed standing next to the ER star on a boat as they navigated a canal in the Italian city, surrounded by famous faces invited to the wedding.<\/p>\n The siblings shared their childhood in Kentucky. In 2015, George revealed to CBS This Morning, “My sister, I’m very close to.”<\/p>\n The two-time Academy Award winner also reminisced about cherished moments with Ada during their childhood in a speech at the Workhuman convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Centre in Nashville in March 2019, as reported by The Tennessean.<\/p>\n “On Christmas morning, when we woke up, before we could open any presents we would drive an hour and a half to some stranger’s home and spend the morning having Christmas with these people, bringing presents,” the actor remembered.<\/p>\n “The understanding was that we are all in this together.
