{"id":205172,"date":"2025-12-22T13:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T13:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/205172\/"},"modified":"2025-12-22T13:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T13:51:07","slug":"louth-man-accused-of-murdering-his-parents-and-brother-returned-for-trial-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/205172\/","title":{"rendered":"Louth man accused of murdering his parents and brother returned for trial \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A man accused of murdering his parents and brother in Co Louth earlier this year was returned for trial from Drogheda District Court on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Robert O\u2019Connor (31), of Drumgowna, Co Louth, is charged with the murder of his mother Louise Doherty O\u2019Connor, his father Mark O\u2019Connor and his brother Evan O\u2019Connor at Drumgowna on September 29th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">State solicitor for Co Louth Fergus Mullen told Judge Nicola Andrews a book of evidence had been served on the accused and the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed he be returned for trial to the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Mr Mullen also confirmed that a number of O\u2019Connor family members were in attendance in court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Judge Andrews warned the defendant that if he intended to rely on the defence of alibi, he must give details in writing of such witnesses to the prosecution within 14 days.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Robert O'Connor of Drumgowna, Co Louth, who has been sent forward for trial, accused of murdering his parents and brother.
