Vogue Williams is left in tears every time she leaves Ireland, as she and husband Spencer Matthews continue to split family life between London and their \u201cforever home\u201d in Howth\"VogueVogue Williams(Image: ITV)<\/p>\n

Spencer Matthews has said that his wife Vogue Williams was left in floods of tears after saying goodbye to her beloved family home in Ireland.<\/p>\n

The Irish presenter, who grew up near the coast in north Dublin, has previously spoken candidly about the emotional pull of her \u201cforever home\u201d in Howth \u2014 a place she has described as her sanctuary and the setting she hopes will ground her three children in their Irish heritage.<\/p>\n

Vogue and Spencer\u2019s love story began in unlikely circumstances. Speaking to The Times, Spencer said the pair met while filming the Channel 4 winter sports series The Jump in Austria in 2017. He explained: \u201cWhen I won the TV show The Jump in the Tyrol in Austria in 2017, I hadn\u2019t skied since I was very young. I have been a snowboarder for years, so I had good balance. I met Vogue there and we started as friends, progressing to romance fairly quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Vogue\u2019s insistence that she \u201cdidn\u2019t fancy him at first\u201d, their relationship moved fast, and the couple married just a year later. \u201cWe had a small wedding in 2018 at my parents\u2019 home in Glen Affric in the Scottish Highlands,\u201d Spencer said, describing the remote and picturesque setting that also holds personal significance for him. The couple have since welcomed three children \u2014 Theodore, Gigi and Otto \u2014 and now balance family life between London and Ireland.<\/p>\n

In 2020, the former I’m A Celeb contestant made a major emotional and financial investment by buying a house in Howth, a scenic seaside village just outside Dublin. \u201cIn 2020, Vogue bought a house in Howth, a wonderful Irish seaside port near Dublin where she\u2019s spent much of her life,\u201d Spencer explained. \u201cShe\u2019s obsessed and cries when the plane takes off. We\u2019re bringing in the new year there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The property, reportedly costing \u20ac2.8 million, was lovingly transformed with the help of interior designer Geri O\u2019Toole of Geri Designs. Vogue has repeatedly described the house as her \u201cforever home\u201d<\/a> \u2014 a place of calm where the family can properly switch off from their hectic schedules.<\/p>\n

Vogue, who hails from nearby Portmarnock, has spoken movingly about how important it is for her children to feel connected to Ireland. She recently revealed that they have already begun forming friendships locally, saying: \u201cIt\u2019s where I grew up; I want our kids to know it and their Irish roots too. Our new home in Howth is our relaxing space, and it is our forever home. The kids love it and have made their own friends, which is so cute.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family now spends significant chunks of the year in Ireland, including three weeks every summer, around 10 days at Christmas, as well as mid-term breaks and Easter. Vogue previously told The Times: \u201cWe want to spend more and more time over here. I love it and the kids love it too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vogue and Spencer have also revealed that they have sold their \u00a34.25 million Battersea apartment and moved into what they have described as their \u201cforever\u201d family home in London.<\/p>\n

The couple first listed their luxury London flat two years ago and ultimately reduced the asking price by a substantial \u00a31 million before securing a sale.<\/p>\n

In a recent episode of her YouTube vlog, Vogue confirmed that the Battersea property \u2014 the first home she and Spencer shared together \u2014 has now been sold, and revealed that they purchased their long-term family house in London earlier this year, completing the move in June.<\/p>\n
