The 2025 Reardens Bar Cork LGFA Team of the Year is dominated by first-time senior A county champions \u00c9ire \u00d3g.<\/p>\n

The event will take place on Sunday, January 4 in Reardens Bar at 8pm.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, tears flowed as soon as this year\u2019s county decider\u2019s replay ended with \u00c9ire \u00d3g victorious over previous champions Aghada.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This reaction was to be expected as the core of the winning panel experienced defeat in all four previous county deciders.<\/p>\n

The champions\u2019 Reardens Bar Team of the Year representatives are joined by four of the championship\u2019s runners-up, Aghada. Mourneabbey (two), and St. Val\u2019s (two) are represented as well as senior B county winners, Glanmire.<\/p>\n

\u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s Ruby Halligan played a key role in her side\u2019s county success.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The goalkeeper conceded a meagre six goals en-route to the title and made vital stops in both the county final and replay.<\/p>\n

Halligan\u2019s teammate, M\u00e9abh Cahalane, was an effective presence in \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s back division throughout a lengthy campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Considering her dual county and Munster Camogie winning commitments with St Finbarr\u2019s, Cahalane\u2019s influence en route to \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s success, was immense.<\/p>\n

St Val\u2019s run to this season\u2019s county semi-finals owed much to the defensive efforts of Aileen Corkery.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beaten by eventual champions \u00c9ire \u00d3g in the last four, Corkery was one of her club\u2019s most consistent players.<\/p>\n

The Team of the Year\u2019s full-back slot goes to Aghada\u2019s Sally McAllister.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Always dependable on the edge of the square, McAllister was regularly tasked with marking her opposition\u2019s top forwards and rarely put a foot wrong.\n <\/p>\n

The same is true of McAllister\u2019s Aghada team-mate, Rachel Leahy. One of the county final and replay\u2019s outstanding performers, Leahy\u2019s ability to get up and down the pitch helped put the seal on a terrific individual campaign.<\/p>\n

Former Cork senior R\u00f3is\u00edn Phelan was another Aghada stalwart to consistently deliver quality displays throughout the season. Phelan\u2019s second consecutive Team of the Year accolade underlines her importance to Aghada\u2019s setup.<\/p>\n

OUTSTANDING<\/p>\n

In midfield or defence, Shauna Cronin enjoyed a marvellous year for \u00c9ire \u00d3g. That was topped off by outstanding displays in the two-game marathon county final and replay victory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Cork senior panellist looks set for another stellar season.<\/p>\n

Mourneabbey\u2019s Ciara O\u2019Sullivan rolled back the years and proved one of her club\u2019s most consistent scorers throughout a productive league campaign and county semi-finals appearance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former inter-county stalwart remains an integral part of her club\u2019s senior team.<\/p>\n

Sadbh McGoldrick\u2019s dominance of the middle third played a huge role in \u00c9ire \u00d3g becoming county champions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McGoldrick\u2019s versatility and selfless efforts were as impressive as her distribution.<\/p>\n

Aghada\u2019s top scorer, Kaitlin Smith, was instrumental in helping deliver her club\u2019s inaugural Division 1 county league title success.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dominant at centre-forward throughout the championship, Smith created as many scores as she converted.<\/p>\n

Cork senior Emma Cleary underlined her value to \u00c9ire \u00d3g with two points in the county final and three in the replay.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the county\u2019s hardest-working players, Cleary\u2019s guile and creativity helped her club finally get over the line to become county champions.<\/p>\n

Niamh McAllen ended the year as Glanmire\u2019s top scorer from open play in the county league.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A regular scorer in their senior B county championship success, McAllen\u2019s 1-3 against Kilmurry\/Ibrickane helped Glanmire also lift the Munster senior B trophy.<\/p>\n

BRIGHT<\/p>\n

Laura Walsh emerged as one of the county\u2019s brightest prospects over the past 12 months. The rising star chipped in with important scores throughout Mourneabbey\u2019s senior campaign as well as excelling in Cork\u2019s All-Ireland LGFA minor title success.<\/p>\n

\n Along with her older sister M\u00e9abh, Orlaith Cahalane played a starring role in \u00c9ire \u00d3g\u2019s first senior championship triumph.\u00a0\n <\/p>\n

The inter-county forward was a nightmare for defenders all year.<\/p>\n

One of St Val\u2019s most consistent scorers throughout 2025, Ciara McCarthy\u2019s effort in front of goal helped her club reach the last four of the county championship.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McCarthy\u2019s 1-5 in the semi-final loss to champions \u00c9ire \u00d3g underlined her class.<\/p>\n
