19th December 2025 \u2013 (Hong Kong) A video circulating online appears to show hospital staff at a ward nurses\u2019 station using a syringe to spray water at a man dressed in black, while three uniformed healthcare workers look on \u2014 two of them laughing. In response to enquiries on Thursday (19th December), the Hospital Authority (HA) confirmed the incident took place at Queen Mary Hospital and involved several staff members behaving inappropriately around midnight on a recent day. The hospital said ward services and patient safety were not affected.<\/p>\n

The footage, seemingly recorded at a nurses\u2019 station, shows the person filming using a medicine\u2011feeding syringe filled with water to squirt the man in black, as three individuals in clinical attire observe, with two seen smiling.<\/p>\n

The hospital said it is conducting a comprehensive investigation and will handle the matter in accordance with established human resources procedures, pledging to take appropriate disciplinary action. Emphasising that the case is isolated, the hospital reiterated that operations in the affected ward and patient safety remained intact. Staff have been reminded to uphold professional conduct at all times and to discharge their duty of care to patients.<\/p>\n
