After the former prince was stripped of his British royal titles over his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Beatrice plans to enjoy the festive season abroad.<\/p>\n
She reportedly faced a tricky decision after being invited to Andrew and her mother Sarah\u2019s celebrations at the Windsor mansion before they are forced to leave, and joining King Charles and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham.<\/p>\n
However, the 37-year-old princess has decided to turn down both to \u201cavoid embarrassment\u201d and instead is opting to go skiing with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and friends.<\/p>\n
Beatrice\u2019s younger sister, Eugenie, faces a similar dilemma and has not confirmed where she will go for Christmas, although she is expected to spend it with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.<\/p>\n
An insider said of Andrew: \u201cWith everything that\u2019s gone on he\u2019s very much like the Grinch. It\u2019s clear this year that festive cheer is in short supply.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year will mark the first time since Andrew moved in 20 years ago that he has not put up decorations outside Royal Lodge, The Sun reported.<\/p>\n
Usually, his property has two festive wreaths outside and a Christmas tree on the roof, all of which are notably absent this year.<\/p>\n
It is understood that Beatrice confided in friends that she was \u201ctormented\u201d by the \u201ctug\u201d between her options: staying at Sandringham or returning to her ostracized parents at Royal Lodge.<\/p>\n
According to The Sun, one loyal friend said: \u201cBeatrice doesn\u2019t want to cause any embarrassment and was torn between loyalty to the king and her parents.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is why with Eugenie, they went to Buckingham Palace for the pre-Christmas family lunch.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe appreciates the way that the king and William have looked after her during everything that has been happening with Andy and Sarah.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe didn\u2019t want it to look like they were snubbing anyone, so it was easier to go off with friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year will be the family\u2019s last Christmas at Royal Lodge after they were turfed out over the mounting Epstein scandal in October. The family was given a year to move out, and it could take many more months.<\/p>\n
