In a candid admission about his ex-wife, Kerry Katona<\/a>, Brian McFadden has said that he “probably wouldn’t have left” if he had been in his current “headspace”. In an interview that emerged almost 10 months after the release of a boyband-themed BBC<\/a> documentary, titled Boybands Forever, the Westlife singer opened up about the highs and lows of life <\/a>in the music industry.<\/p>\n Despite what The i Paper described as boyband members being left “traumatised by their experiences”, Brian confessed that, “out of all the people”, he was “probably the one that was OK”.<\/p>\n Indeed, he went on to say that he “had the craic” and learned from “other people\u2019s mistakes”, but it seems that there’s at least one thing that Brian regrets about his time in the pop group.<\/p>\n In a press conference alongside his Westlife bandmates<\/a>, Brian reportedly announced that he intended to leave the group to spend more time with his wife, former Atomic Kitten star Kerry<\/a>, and their children.<\/p>\n Brian, who was married to Kerry<\/a> from 2002 to 2004, told The i Paper<\/a>: “If I was in a headspace like I am now, yeah, I probably wouldn\u2019t have left. But I can’t change how my head was back then.”<\/p>\n Kerry <\/a>and Brian, who have two daughters together, Molly and Lily McFadden, first met in 1999 and were reportedly engaged <\/a>within a matter of months, but it was sadly not meant to be.<\/p>\n Despite this, Kerry recently looked back on her time with Brian fondly. Speaking to Paul C. Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast in September, she revealed that he “was so funny” and “really loved” her.<\/p>\n She said: “I think he was the first proper person who genuinely cared about my well-being. Do you know what I mean? I told him what happened in my life. He said ‘I’m going to take you away from all that.’ He was my knight in shining armour.”<\/p>\n Kerry admitted, however, that Brian wasn’t keen on her talking about their relationship publicly. She added: “He rescued me, I don’t mind (talking about it), I know he doesn’t like it. And you know, that’s part of my story.”<\/p>\n In July, reports emerged that Brian’s daughters were in attendance when he tied the knot with long-term partner Danielle Parkinson at a beachside ceremony – his third wedding (he was also previously married to podcaster Vogue Williams<\/a>).<\/p>\n Brian posted a clip from the happy day on his Instagram<\/a> page, with one fan commenting: “So happy for you both \u2013 here\u2019s to laughter, love, and a forever kind of harmony.”<\/p>\n You can catch Brian on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special on BBC One on Thursday, December 25, from 5.30pm to 6:45pm.<\/p>\n![\"UNITED](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/0_Nobu-Save-The-Children-Gala-At-The-Met.jpg\")
