A 48-year-old man has died after a house fire in Co Antrim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fire broke out at a home in the Waring Street area of Ballymena<\/a> on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

Two crews from Ballymena fire station attended the incident after the blaze was reported at 9.30am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Officers attached to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI)<\/a> said his death is not being treated as suspicious and inquiries into the circumstances of the fire are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police can confirm that a man, aged in his 40s, has died following a fire at a house in the Waring Street area of Ballymena, on Friday 26th December.<\/p>\n

“Police received a report of the fire shortly before 9.45am on Friday morning, and attended alongside colleagues from other emergency services but, sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

“Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire are ongoing, however, at this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious.”<\/p>\n
