A promising hurler with his local GAA team at Ballyea, the 16-year-old died after the tractor he was driving crashed on Saturday on the R458 at Bunnahow, north of Crusheen, at 2pm.<\/p>\n
The former Ballyea National School pupil, who was the only occupant of the tractor, was pronounced dead at the scene by garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
The boy was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed have appealed to anyone travelling on the R458 between Gort and Crusheen around the time of the collision to contact them with any dashcam footage.<\/p>\n
A planned tractor run planned for the day was later cancelled, \u201cdue to unforeseen circumstances”, according to Ballyea GAA\u2019s Facebook page.<\/p>\n
The road in Tubber currently remains closed, according to garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n
According to the Clare Champion, TJ Chambers was a promising hurler from the Ballyea GAA club in County Clare.<\/p>\n
He was known for his involvement in underage U-15 and U-16 teams and featured in championship finals.<\/p>\n
He also regularly took part in helping raise funds for his club.<\/p>\n
