A large orange-lacquered communal table runs through the centre of this burger restaurant<\/a> in Houston<\/a>, designed by locally based Studio Danel to “transcend the conventions of a burger restaurant”.<\/p>\n

The Galleria location of OMG! Burger<\/a>, a chain of Texas burger bars, was designed by Studio Danel<\/a> founder Danel Zharmenova as “a modernist social hub where design and dining converge”.<\/p>\n

“OMG! Burger reimagines the fast-casual dining experience through a language of precision, playfulness, and brand-driven architecture,” said Studio Danel.<\/p>\n

“The interior merges modernist rigour with expressive colour and form, creating a space where proportion, reflection, and materiality convey the brand’s spirit of authenticity and joy.”<\/p>\n

To create a communal atmosphere and spark conversation, the designer placed a long orange-lacquered table in the centre of the 2,000-square-foot (186-square-metre) restaurant.<\/p>\n

The table’s surface is supported by large cuboid blocks at either end and accompanied by matching cube-shaped stools with cushioned tops.<\/p>\n

\"TheThe brand’s logo glows above the service counter, while the exclamation point is repeated behind the registers<\/p>\n

Burgundy dining chairs were chosen to offset the tangerine hue, while blue tiles form a backdrop for the self-service station.<\/p>\n

Along the back wall is a row of circular stainless steel tables, positioned along a built-in, stained-plywood bench that becomes a merchandising display at the end.<\/p>\n

Above, more stainless steel covers the wall and features porthole-like apertures influenced by French architect Jean Prouv\u00e9, offering “a contemporary nod to post-war modernism”, according to the studio.<\/p>\n

The ceiling is lined in a grid of reflective panels, and a custom lozenge-shaped light fixture emblazoned with the restaurant’s logo hangs above the orange table.<\/p>\n

The wordmark appears again over the service counter, where it glows within a mirrored panel, and the exclamation point is mounted by itself on the wall behind the registers.<\/p>\n

“OMG! Burger transcends the conventions of a burger restaurant,” said Studio Danel. “Conceived as a social stage, it merges stainless-steel precision, mirrored expansiveness, and crafted wood warmth into a democratic yet refined environment \u2014 a place where architecture and everyday culture meet.”<\/p>\n

A surprising number of burger restaurants around the world take their interior design cues from modernism.<\/p>\n

Other examples include an eatery in Reims<\/a> that’s designed as an ode to modernist California and a burger bar in Geneva<\/a> where the designers aimed to keep as much of the original fit-out as possible.<\/p>\n
