According to Weiss, Jacob Harris, the owner of Riverside’s Shipwreck Barbershop, who has also been documenting his journey to get Chase assistance, contacted a mental health crisis team, who did an evaluation on Chase and “agreed that he needed help,” however, they ultimately “did not keep him” and instead “they released him in the middle of the night.”<\/p>\n
Harris shared his own update on his Instagram<\/a>, telling viewers that Chase was in a “36-hour medical hold,” during which they were able to get him “clean, detoxed, physically clean.”<\/p>\n Harris, in conjunction with Chase’s family, had a professional rehabilitation coach from Boston ready to work with the former actor in the hopes they could keep him off the streets, but “he was not, at the time, willing to accept help from the rehabilitation coach, although he was very receptive toward the information.”<\/p>\n Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with\u00a0our\u00a0EW Dispatch newsletter<\/a>.<\/p>\n “So, we were able to call another crisis team,” Harris added. “They came out and evaluated him. Since he was of sound mind, cleaned up and not in immediate danger, they weren’t able to take him.”<\/p>\n Both Harris and Weiss called on officials and the city of Riverside to help by making sure that they “not let him slip through the cracks” if he comes in again.
