Garda\u00ed have been notified after two \u2018idiots\u2019 caused more than \u20ac600 damage to the Christmas tree in the centre of Buncrana.<\/p>\n
The incident, the third attack on the attraction in a week, was carried out at 2.37am yesterday morning. It was captured on CCTV.<\/p>\n
Posting on social media, a spokesperson for the Buncrana Christmas Lights committee said it was the second year in a row that the man vandalised the tree.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had another incident where two idiots went inside the tree and caused \u20ac600 worth of damage,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
Last week, the committee gave two other young men an opportunity to come forward after they were filmed climbing the tree, causing a small amount of damage.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason we are not posting your face and naming and shaming is we have gathered all footage and have passed this information to the Gardai,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, you can both expect a visit soon, maybe even your friend who recorded you inside the tree, too. Enough is enough. Leave the stuff alone. Respect other people\u2019s property. It\u2019s not that difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n
