The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) strongly condemns the recent burning of the New Tenabuti Health Clinic on 26th of December 2025 describing it as an act that has caused significant damage to essential health infrastructure and disrupted vital services for the community.<\/p>\n
Reports have confirmed that the incident occurred around 9pm at the New Tenabuti Clinic, Paripao Ward, Guadalcanal Province.<\/p>\n
The clinic was set ablaze in what has been confirmed through investigation to be a deliberate act of arson.<\/p>\n
The fire burned down the entire clinic structure and completely destroyed all critical medical equipment and supplies.<\/p>\n
The ministry is deeply concerned about the impact this will have on patients who rely on the facility for healthcare services.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a senseless and unacceptable act that undermines the health and wellbeing of our people. Health facilities are safe spaces meant to serve communities, and any attack on them is an attack on public health,\u201d said MHMS supervising PS Layten Jacob.<\/p>\n
The Ministry is working closely with law enforcement authorities to investigate the matter and ensure those responsible are held accountable.<\/p>\n
MHMS urges all citizens to respect health facilities and properties, which are vital for delivering life-saving care.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe call on communities to protect these facilities and report any suspicious activities. Together, we must safeguard our health system,\u201d added Mr. Jacob.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the New Tenabuti Health Clinic provided clinical services to communities as far as Kolosulu, Papae, Reko, Geza, New Tenabuti, Ruavatu and other smaller surrounding communities and settlements.<\/p>\n
But since the burning incident people have travel to access health services at Numbu, Ghombua or the Good Samaritan Hospital.<\/p>\n
