This year’s Emmy<\/a>\u00a0Awards sees a whole host of British and Irish acting legends as well as relative newcomers vying for gongs at the star-studded ceremony in LA.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Leading the pack is\u00a0Adolescence star Owen Cooper who could make history as the youngest ever male winner if he scoops Supporting Actor Award for the\u00a0Netflix<\/a>‘s smash hit series which has swept the board with 13 nominations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The White Lotus star Aimee, 31,\u00a0who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama series, looked stunning in a pale pink and red satin gown, which\u00a0featured a sweetheart neckline with red fabric peeking out the top of the pink cups, as well as a long train.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aimee made a powerful statement with her garment as she attached a ceasefire brooch to her dress in support of the horrors in Gaza.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also in attendance was fellow nominee Erin, who received a nod for her role in the acclaimed Netflix show Adolescence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Erin looked sensational for the evening as she donned a black mirror effect sculpted gown with a full skirt while joined on the red carpet by her co-star Owen, 15.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Singer Rita Ora turned heads for the evening in a cream and white gown featuring a racy plunging neckline and thigh-high split. She was joined by her husband, director and actor Taika Waititi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nominated for both her writing and as a lead actress on Bad Sisters, Sharon Horgan was also seen on the carpet as she put on a racy display in a black sheer and cut-out gown featuring lace detailing.<\/p>\n

The Irish actress’s gown featured daring straps and a chiffon skirt, as well as polka dot fabric.<\/p>\n

Adolescence co-stars Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham have also landed nods, alongside fellow Brit and The\u00a0White Lotus<\/a> star\u00a0Aimee Lou Wood<\/a> and Irish actor Colin Farrell<\/a> for his role in The Penguin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The current record holder for youngest male is Scott Jacoby, who bagged the Best Supporting Actor at 16 in 1973 for drama That Certain Summer.<\/p>\n

Daily Mail previously revealed Owen would be entered in the Best Supporting Actor category, as opposed to Best Actor, which experts hailed as a ‘genius move’ and said would massively boost his chances of winning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He will compete in the same category against co-star Ashley Walters who has also been nominated for his first Emmy for his role as DI Luke Bascombe.<\/p>\n

While Erin’s\u00a0gripping one-take scene as child psychologist Briony interviewing teenager murderer Jamie Miller – played by Owen – was lauded as the ‘most astounding episode of a dazzling quartet’ by the Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She is up for the\u00a0Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie prize, and faces strong competition against co-star\u00a0Christine Tremarco, Irish actress Ruth Negga as well as Deirdre O\u2019Connell, Chlo\u00eb Sevigny and Jenny Slate.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year The Penguin star Colin won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for his role in the HBO’s acclaimed DC series, a feat he is no doubt hoping to replicate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ahead of the ceremony Adolescence star Owen said:\u00a0‘I will never forget this for the rest of my life. If I break the record that would be cool. It’s all next level. This time last year I didn’t know what I’d be doing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Never could I have believed that this show would change my life in the way that it has.’<\/p>\n

The young actor has also revealed which iconic role he wants to play next after the Netflix series made him world famous overnight.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0admitted seeing Tom Holland , 28, in disaster drama The Impossible, based on the events of the 2004 Thailand Tsunami, which made him want to be an actor and now dreams of replacing his idol as Spiderman in the Marvel Universe<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Adolescence the young star’s performance has gained plaudits and calls for a BAFTA nomination, but Owen admitted being left surprised after receiving equally supportive messages from his mates back home in Warrington.<\/p>\n

For her role in The White Lotus Aimee, 31, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama series, faced ridicule over her teeth in an SNL sketch as well as\u00a0\u00a0rumours of a feud with co-star and onscreen love interest Walton Goggins.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with British GQ<\/a>, she explained that White Lotus creator Mike White had to ‘fight’ to cast her, which made her feel insecure.<\/p>\n

She continued: ‘When someone (not a producer) told me Mike fought for me it was said in a nice way.<\/p>\n

‘I just spiralled about it because of my own impostor syndrome. That was my point. Just really wanted to clear that up because HBO have been nothing but super supportive.<\/p>\n

In the GQ article, Aimee dove into the insecurity, saying, ‘My little head goes: “HBO didn’t want me. And I know why HBO didn’t want me, it’s because I’m ugly.”‘<\/p>\n

‘Mike had to say, “Please let me have the ugly girl!” That was the thing that was in my head,’ she continued.<\/p>\n
