Despite having a massively famous father, Tracy Reiner has preferred living her life out of the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Tracy was born in 1946 to Michael Henry and Penny Marshall. Her mother later married famed director Rob Reiner, who officially adopted Tracy and became her main father figure.<\/p>\n

In the wake of Rob and his second wife Michele Reiner\u2019s tragic deaths<\/a>, Tracy has kept quiet, aside from one public statement<\/a> about the tragedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI came from the greatest family ever,\u201d she told NBC News<\/a> last month after Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were fatally stabbed inside their Brentwood home with son Nick, 32<\/a> arrested in the double murder.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what to say,\u201d Tracy added. \u201cI\u2019m in shock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marshall was a 19-year-old student at the University of New Mexico when she got pregnant with Tracy. Henry, for his part, was an 18-year-old college football player.<\/p>\n

During a 2012 interview with Newsweek,<\/a> Marshall reflected on her teen pregnancy, including her decision to keep the baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was 1963 \u2014 there were no legal abortions in the U.S., and I wasn\u2019t going to go to Ju\u00e1rez, you know?\u201d she said. \u201cGirls then were going horseback riding to try to end their pregnancies. I didn\u2019t do that. I figured I made my bed, so I\u2019m going to sleep in it. My third choice was moving to Amarillo. I\u2019d never been there, but I was thinking I\u2019d go and have the baby by myself.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut instead Mickey said, Let\u2019s get married. He was a great guy. We ended up getting married the weekend John F. Kennedy got shot. All that was on the TV during our honeymoon in a motel was the funeral, which set the tone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marshall told the outlet that she and Henry later got divorced and he moved to Colorado where he remarried and had another daughter.<\/p>\n

When Tracy was 8, she moved with her mom to California, where Marshall\u2019s older brother, a comedy writer, was working with Rob\u2019s father, Carl Reiner, which is how Marshall and Rob met.<\/p>\n

Once Marshall and Rob tied the knot in 1971, Rob began raising Tracy as his own daughter. Tracy even took Rob\u2019s last name.<\/p>\n

\u201cTracy came to stay with us \u2014 she said we had more TV channels,\u201d Marshall recalled to Newsweek. \u201cI did have to send her off to college while wearing a Playboy Bunny suit, because it was during the shooting of that episode of\u00a0\u2018Laverne & Shirley.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cCarrie Fisher was on the show, and said, \u2018Work hard and one day you\u2019ll be as successful as your mother!\u2019 And there I was in a bunny suit with a tail, saying, \u2018Bye-bye, honey, have a good time!’\u201d<\/p>\n

During a 2021 interview with the Hollywood Sentinel<\/a>, Tracy reflected on her early experiences with Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe times that I would visit here was always a holiday, so it was just a dreamland to me,\u201d she said. \u201cThere was a lot more television shows (in L.A.), and my Mom was sort of a junk-food freak and she would get like fritos and sodas for breakfast and I would always go home completely sick, but I thought it was the greatest time here, so when I finally moved here, there was a whole new world here that I was never asked to participate in.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, I didn\u2019t know the personality rules that were going to show up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tracy eventually followed in Rob and Marshall\u2019s footsteps as an actor, with her most notable role being Rockford Peaches left fielder\u00a0Betty \u201cSpaghetti\u201d Horn\u00a0in the 1992 film \u201cA League of Their Own.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also starred in the films \u201cPretty Woman,\u201d \u201cDie Hard,\u201d \u201cBig,\u201d \u201cApollo 13\u201d and \u201cJumpin\u2019 Jack Flash,\u201d along with other films and shows. Vivien Killilea<\/p>\n

In the Hollywood Sentinel interview, Tracy opened up about struggling to keep jobs in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce you\u2019re thirty five in this business, you had better have a couple of things you do because it\u2019s not the most supportive industry,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt tries to be, but it\u2019s very hard to get a job with a level income. It\u2019s not the fall that kills you, it\u2019s the sudden stop! It\u2019s not like. \u2018Oh, I\u2019m famous, and then I\u2019m not famous,\u2019 it\u2019s the point where everyone is searching for work right now, and so to be prepared for that in your field of interest, when you\u2019re young.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tracy added, \u201cI couldn\u2019t imagine just acting, there are so many facets you have to know, it\u2019s not just a tight little family any more now, it\u2019s not just six thousand members of The Screen Actors Guild, there is a lot more in the industry itself because all of the technologies division, it\u2019s now a huge corporate industry you know, so we were all sort of prepared to adapt to that change.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her personal life, Tracy has a blended family that includes five children.<\/p>\n

She told journalist Jeff Pearlman in 2014 that balancing her family and her career has \u201cmade me sane.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew up basically an only child. I have a sister, Heather, from my father Mickey,\u201d she shared. \u201cI love to be silent and alone and having constant chaos opened up a whole new skill set. Twelve years ago I would have laughed and driven away if you said, \u2018Guess where you will be in 2014.\u2019 But I am better now at being me and being a parent and an artist then I ever imagined.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through Rob, Tracy has three siblings: Nick, Jake, 34, and Romy, 29.<\/p>\n

After Nick was charged in his parents\u2019 murder, Jake and Romy put out a public statement <\/a>and said they are experiencing \u201cunimaginable pain\u201d<\/p>\n
