British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from hospital in Nigeria (PA)<\/p>\n

Anthony Joshua\u2019s driver has been charged after a crash that killed two of the boxer\u2019s team members, sources have told the BBC.<\/p>\n

Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode was charged at the Sagamu Magistrate Court on Friday and police sources suggested the charges included causing death by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n

Joshua was discharged from hospital on Wednesday after the crash in which two of his friends died, authorities have said.<\/p>\n

Sina Ghami and Latif \u2018Latz\u2019 Ayodele died after the vehicle they were travelling in along with Joshua struck a stationary truck on a major road near Lagos on Monday.<\/p>\n

British heavyweight Joshua sustained injuries, but was released on Wednesday, Lagos state commissioner for information Gbenga Omotoso said.<\/p>\n

In a joint statement with Ogun state, which he posted on X, Mr Omotoso said Joshua was \u201cdeemed clinical fit to recuperate from home\u201d.<\/p>\n

The statement said: \u201cAnthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation scheduled for later this evening.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to being long-term friends of Joshua, Ghami acted as his strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was a trainer.<\/p>\n

Joshua, who was born in Watford to Nigerian parents, was on holiday in Nigeria following his win over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19.<\/p>\n

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn \u2013 who has promoted 36-year-old Joshua since he turned professional, after he won gold at the London 2012 Olympics \u2013 posted on Instagram: \u201cRest in peace Latz and Sina. Your energy and loyalty among so many other great qualities will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n

\u201cPraying for strength and guidance for all their family, friends and of course AJ during this very difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
