\u201cHoppers\u201d comes after the studio\u2019s last original film, \u201cElio,\u201d<\/a> had an underwhelming reception in summer 2025. <\/p>\n \u2018Project Hail Mary\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: March 20<\/p>\n Starring: Ryan Gosling, Sandra H\u00fcller<\/p>\n Based on the bestselling novel \u201cProject Hail Mary\u201d by Andy Weir (who also wrote \u201cThe Martian,\u201d which was adapted into a movie in 2015), the movie will star Ryan Gosling as the main character, science teacher Ryland Grace.<\/p>\n Ryland wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or how he got there. The sequel will see the return of many of the same characters from the first movie. <\/p>\n The synopsis for \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2\u201d reads: \u201cMiranda Priestly struggles against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amid declining print media, while Miranda nears retirement.\u201d <\/p>\n \u2018The Mandalorian and Grogu\u2019<\/p>\n Release date: May 22<\/p>\n Starring: Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White and others<\/p>\n \u201cThe Mandalorian and Grogu<\/a>\u201d will be the first \u201cStar Wars\u201d film to hit theaters in over six years. The movie is based on the hit Disney+ series \u201cThe Mandalorian.\u201d <\/p>\n After the evil Empire falls, there are still Imperial warlords spread throughout the galaxy. The New Republic is working to protect what the Rebellion fought for and enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice, Grogu.<\/p>\n In the trailer, fans see the Mandalorian and Grogu meet Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White\u2019s characters, as well as fight a number of different evil droids and sci-fi creatures, per Variety.<\/a> The two heroes are seen fighting what appears to be a Rancor-like lizard monster in Rotta the Hutt\u2019s arena, and they bring down a lumbering AT-AT, which dramatically falls down a mountainside.<\/p>\n \u2018Masters of the Universe\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: June 5<\/p>\n Starring: Nicholas Galitzine, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Camila Mendes<\/p>\n Mattel\u2019s \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d franchise has been around for over 40 years, including television cartoons, comics, toys and other merchandise. The latest installment in the franchise is a live-action movie coming in 2026. <\/p>\n The 2026 movie starring Nicholas Galitzine is the franchise\u2019s second try with a live-action feature film. In 1987, there was a \u201cMasters of the Universe\u201d movie starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man that flopped at the box office. <\/p>\n \u201cHe-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, goes against the evil Skeletor to save the planet Eternia and protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull,\u201d reads the new movie\u2019s official description. <\/p>\n \u2018Toy Story 5\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: June 19<\/p>\n Starring: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Greta Lee, Joan Cusack, Conan O\u2019Brien <\/p>\n The first movie in the \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise premiered over 30 years ago in 1995. The following three movies were released in 1999, 2010 and 2019. <\/p>\n Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are returning for the fifth movie in the series, during which the toys will face off against tech. In the newest movie, Woody, Buzz and the rest of the toys will have to navigate a world in which kids are infatuated with electronics, and 8-year-old Bonnie gets a new device.<\/p>\n In the first teaser released for the movie, the toys are introduced to a new character: Lilypad, a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee. <\/p>\n \u2018Supergirl\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: June 26<\/p>\n Starring: Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley, David Corenswet, Matthias Schoenaerts and Emily Beecham<\/p>\n Following the success of \u201cSuperman<\/a>\u201d this summer, DC is returning to the big screen to tell the story of Clark Kent\u2019s cousin. <\/p>\n \u201cSupergirl\u201d tells the story of Kara Zor-El and \u201cher darker origin before she finally made her way to Earth,\u201d according to the film\u2019s description. Milly Alcock\u2019s Supergirl was shown briefly at the end of \u201cSuperman,\u201d when she stumbled into the fortress of solitude to retrieve her dog, Krypto. <\/p>\n In this new version of the character, Supergirl is not a carbon copy of Superman as she is in previous depictions of the character. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the movie is based on Tom King\u2019s 2022 comic book series \u201cSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.\u201d <\/p>\n In the comic, \u201cSupergirl and young alien girl Knolle travel across the galaxy to hunt Krem of the Yellow Hill after he kills Knolle\u2019s father in cold blood,\u201d according to Deadline<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u2018Moana\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: July 10<\/p>\n Starring: Catherine Laga\u2019aia, Dwayne Johnson, John Tui, Frankie Adams and Rena Owen<\/p>\n The live-action remake of Disney\u2019s 2016 animated film \u201cMoana\u201d comes almost two years after the studio released the animated sequel, \u201cMoana 2.\u201d <\/p>\n The new live-action movie will see the return of Dwayne Johnson as Maui. <\/p>\n Disney released a teaser trailer for the film last month that focuses on the titular character Moana, played by Catherine Laga\u2019aia. She begins singing \u201cI Am Moana (Song of the Ancestors)\u201d as various shots from the movie are shown. The shots in the teaser include one of a younger Moana standing near the ocean as the waves rise around her. <\/p>\n The teaser\u2019s music transitions into \u201cHow Far I\u2019ll Go\u201d while showing a brief glimpse of Johnson\u2019s return as Maui. The teaser ends with Moana on the boat as she sings the final line of the song \u201cI Am Moana.\u201d <\/p>\n \u2018The Odyssey\u2019 <\/p>\n Release date: July 17<\/p>\n Starring: Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Mia Goth, Robert Pattinson and others<\/p>\n Christopher Nolan\u2019s highly anticipated adaptation of Homer\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d is expected to take over the summer box office. The story follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, as he makes the long winding and treacherous journey home from the Trojan War. <\/p>\n The first trailer for the film<\/a> shows Odysseus and his army getting shipwrecked and shows him making his treacherous journey back home. Odysseus and his soldiers are also seen inside the infamous Trojan Horse.<\/p>\n Odysseus walks over land, sails by sea and makes treks through caves. There is one shot where an ominously large beast appears in the shadows. The trailer also includes brief shots of Tom Holland as Odysseus\u2019 son Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Odysseus\u2019 wife.<\/p>\n \u2018Spider-Man: Brand New Day\u2019<\/p>\n Release date: July 31<\/p>\n Starring: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo and Jacob Batalon<\/p>\n \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d will be the fourth solo movie starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man. The book of the same name was released earlier this year, with the film adaptation announced at the same time as the book. <\/p>\n The prequel is set 24 years before<\/a> \u201cThe Hunger Games\u201d and tells the story of 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, who later serves as a mentor to Katniss and Peeta when they compete in the Hunger Games.<\/p>\n It begins on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, which has a deadly twist: Twice the number of tributes \u2014 a total of 48 children \u2014 are being sent into the arena to fight for their lives.<\/p>\n The book follows Haymitch from the morning he is chosen to be a part of the Hunger Games through the aftermath of the competition. In the original film series, Haymitch was played by Woody Harrelson.<\/p>\n \u2018Narnia: The Magician\u2019s Nephew\u2019<\/p>\n Release date: Nov. 26<\/p>\n Starring: Daniel Craig, Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan and Denise Gough<\/p>\n It was announced a few years ago that director Greta Gerwig would adapt \u201cThe Chronicles of Narnia\u201d book series.<\/p>\n Next year, Gerwig will release the first of her Narnia movies, an adaptation of C.S. Lewis\u2019 \u201cThe Magician\u2019s Nephew,\u201d which tells the origin story of the magical land. Despite being the sixth book in the series, \u201cThe Magician\u2019s Nephew\u201d is the first in the series chronologically. <\/p>\n The book follows two children, Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, who are transported to a magical world while playing in the study of Digory\u2019s uncle, Andrew Ketterly. But the events of that book take place over a decade after the original novel that the first two movies are based on. <\/p>\n Because of the time jump, life will have changed for Paul Atreides, Chani and the rest of the Known Universe.<\/p>\n The book\u2019s log-line shares that Paul Atreides has been emperor for 12 years and, in that time, has conquered most of the known universe.
