Jeff Probst Defends Inclusion of MrBeast, Billie Eilish & More Celebs on ‘Survivor 50’<\/p>\n

Survivor<\/a>\u2019s latest castaways will have to outwit, outplay and outshine some major stars\u2014whether fans like it or not.<\/p>\n

After the CBS competition series teased celebrity cameos<\/a> from the likes of Billie Eilish<\/a>, Jimmy Fallon<\/a> and MrBeast during its upcoming 50th season, longtime host Jeff Probst shared how the idea to bring Hollywood fanfare to Fiji came to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew some of\u00a0Survivor\u2019s biggest fans happen to be celebrities,\u201d he told Variety<\/a> in an interview published Jan. 5, \u201cso we thought sprinkling a few of them in with their own unique twists felt like a fun way to make the game even more unpredictable!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeff also addressed concerns that the move could distract from the long-running series\u2019 primary objective: seeing how far people would go to win $1 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a legitimate concern when you start adding layers like celebrities, that they can overshadow the game and take it off course,\u201d the 64-year-old continued. \u201cOur job was to make sure that we stayed true to what we\u2019re doing on\u00a0Survivor, which is exploring this continuous social experiment.
