<\/p>\nBuffers Alley GAA and Camogie club will launch the long-awaited history book on Wednesday, September 17 at 7.30pm in the GAA grounds clubhouse, with GAA President, Jarlath Burns attending.<\/p>\n
The 700-page hardback volume chronicles over a century of activity in both hurling and camogie, from the club\u2019s foundation to its golden era of the 1980s \u2013 highlighting the good and tough times too.<\/p>\n

History Book Committee Chairman, Fintan Farrell is looking forward to the launch of the book, as it marks a special occasion for the club. \u201cAfter two years of research, meetings, and arduous work, we are really looking forward to the launch night.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt promises to be a special occasion for the club and community, as we finally get to share this book that captures so much of our history and identity,\u201d Fintan said.<\/p>\n
Over 500 photos are scattered throughout the book, allowing the reader to visually see the history of the club, right up to stories of the present day. Aside from sport, the book includes the beginnings of the grounds, the clubhouse and the novel fundraisers held during the 1970s when money was scarce.<\/p>\n
While it celebrates Buffers Alley proud club, the book also highlights the many clubs and players across Wexford that are part of the story making.<\/p>\n
Mary Foley is the club PRO and said a huge amount of work has gone into the book, and said it is perfect for GAA followers. \u201cAlong the way we\u2019ve crossed paths with so many clubs and players across the county and beyond.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to finally share it, and we would encourage everyone to come along to the clubhouse. The book tells it all from the highs and lows to friendship forged in green and gold,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The book costs \u20ac50 and is available for pre-order now.
