Honor unveiled a prototype of Robot Phone with a built-in camera gimbal arm at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026 and said it will go on sale in China in March.\t<\/p>\n

First teased in October 2025, the company said the Robot Phone\u2019s “emotional companion” feature can “senses, adapts, and evolves autonomously like a robot.”<\/p>\n

At CES 2026, which kicked off Tuesday in Las Vegas, the company did not allow public hands-on testing, but staff demonstrations showed responsive and stable robotic arm movements.<\/p>\n

When retracted, the device resembles a conventional flagship smartphone with a large circular rear camera module. Once activated, the robotic arm deploys smoothly, enabling fluid subject tracking and stabilization similar to dedicated devices such as the DJI Osmo Pocket.<\/p>\n

To accommodate the motors and moving components, Honor has moved away from ultra-slim smartphone<\/a> designs. The Robot Phone is visibly thicker and heavier than typical flagships.<\/p>\n

Tech journalists have long criticized the lack of diversity in smartphone design. While foldable phones offered a shift from the norm, the Robot Phone represents a more radical departure from conventional form factors, CNET noted.<\/p>\n

Honor has kept detailed specifications under wraps. The company said a finalized production version, featuring fully autonomous software-driven tracking, will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March, according to Digital Trends.<\/p>\n
