\n Mercer<\/a> in Australia is pivoting
\n towards its core wealth businesses as it transfers superannuation
\n administration operations to Apex Group<\/a>, the financial
\n services provider.
\n<\/p>\n
\n The lift-out transaction, subject to regulatory approval, is
\n expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of this
\n year, Apex said in a statement yesterday. The financial terms
\n were not disclosed.
\n<\/p>\n
\n Apex has 400 employees in Australia providing a range of
\n administration services to more than 800 funds within the
\n industry.
\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cAustralia offers strong growth potential for us. The
\n superannuation technology and servicing sectors are a key
\n strategic focus for Apex Group,\u201d Peter Hughes, CEO and founder of
\n Apex Group, said.
\n<\/p>\n
\n Antony Proksa, chief operating officer, Mercer Pacific, said:
\n \u201cMercer\u2019s decision to transition our stand-alone superannuation
\n administration business aligns with our strategic objective to
\n focus on growing our core wealth businesses in superannuation and
\n investments, alongside Mercer Workforce Solutions and Mercer
\n Marsh Benefits.\u201d
\n<\/p>\n
\n Apex works with asset managers, allocators, financial
\n institutions, and family offices. It was established in Bermuda
\n in 2003. In June 2024, Carlyle\u2019s global credit business and the
\n private credit arm of Goldman Sachs committed more than $1.1
\n billion into the business. Apex has bought several firms. For
\n example, in 2023 it acquired Retransform, a global real estate
\n provider,\u00a0from The Annet Group. In 2022 Apex bought
\n Mainspring, a UK-based provider of venture capital fund
\n administration and accounting services. Also in 2022, it acquired
\n Sanne, which provides alternative asset and corporate services.
