\n\tGwyneth Paltrow<\/a> is recalling a time when she was fired from a film amid her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tPaltrow recently appeared on Amy Poehler<\/a>\u2018s Good Hang podcast and revealed what the experience was like, without going into detail on what specific film it was. \u201cI was supposed to do a movie at one point, and it was like right after the conscious uncoupling thing with Chris, and there was a lot of harsh stuff in the press,\u201d the Oscar winner said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think the distributor was like, \u2018This might be too hot to touch,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cSo that was great because I was getting a divorce and then I got fired off. So it was so awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPaltrow and Martin married in 2003 and separated in 2014. Their divorce was finalized<\/a> in 2016. In 2023, the actress opened up<\/a> about how they\u2019ve remained on good terms following the split and were able to co-parent their two children.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m still very close with my ex-husband. We\u2019ve sort of morphed it into a true family. I know it sounds really weird to say, but he\u2019s kind of like my brother now. And it\u2019s hard for people to understand, but I did really make a commitment that he would stay my family, and I think we suffer a lot less because of that,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it\u2019s incredibly painful for a woman, when you\u2019ve co-mingled your DNA with a man, if you have no contact and acrimony and nothing between you. So if you\u2019re able to, transmogrify that into a different type of relationship and family. That\u2019s what we\u2019ve been able to do, thank goodness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPaltrow stepped away from acting in 2019 after Avengers: Endgame and, during that time, focused on building her lifestyle brand Goop. But her role as fading movie star Kay Stone in Josh Safdie\u2019s Marty Supreme<\/a>, opposite Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, marks her grand return.<\/p>\n
