<\/p>\nRobert Mizzell opens up on family life and says life on the road has changed his priorities, with time at home with his young family now outweighing financial ambition<\/p>\n
Robert Mizzell has revealed that he has learned the true values in his life in recent years, admitting that spending time at home with his young family<\/a> has become far more important to him than chasing financial success as his touring career continues.<\/p>\n Speaking about the realities of life on the road<\/a> while raising two children, the singer admitted that long periods away are now far harder than they once were, as he continues to tour internationally while trying to strike the right balance at home.<\/p>\n Spending long stretches on the road is part and parcel of the job<\/a> and while touring commitments regularly take him overseas \u2014 including a recent ten-day stint in Nashville \u2014 he admits he values time at home more than ever.<\/p>\n \u201cIt can be tough,\u201d he told RSVP Country. \u201cEven this week, I\u2019m in Nashville for ten days while Adele\u2019s at home with our two small kids, two dogs, a cat, and managing our Airbnb business. She\u2019s under a lot of pressure, making sure the kids get to school and keeping everything running.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be sending photos of everything we\u2019re doing over here, and she\u2019s probably at home doing the laundry,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s tough on her and on the family, but she\u2019s brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n When schedules allow, Adele travels with him \u2014 something they both love.<\/p>\n \u201cI love when she can travel with me. Adele loves country music and she sings herself, so when she\u2019s with me, we both really enjoy it,\u201d he said. \u201cBut when I\u2019m away, it\u2019s hard.\u201d<\/p>\n At home, their children Leo and Maisey have grown up understanding that their dad\u2019s job is a little different \u2014 even if they don\u2019t see it as anything out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n \u201cLeo\u2019s six now and Maisey\u2019s ten, and they definitely get it,\u201d he said. \u201cSometimes I\u2019ll find Leo out on the trampoline with his little speaker blasting my songs or Jimmy\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite that, he laughed that fame carries no weight at home. \u201cThey don\u2019t see me as anything special \u2014 I still embarrass them like any dad would.\u201d<\/p>\n Watching his children grow has become one of the greatest joys of his life, though he admits they are growing up far too fast for his liking.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re so different,\u201d he said. \u201cMaisey\u2019s becoming more independent now \u2014 she doesn\u2019t tell me everything like she used to.\u201d<\/p>\n Leo, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. \u201cHe\u2019s an open book \u2014 full of energy, bouncing around the house like a yo-yo,\u201d he laughed.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery year I see them changing so quickly, and I hate it in a way,\u201d he admitted. \u201cAdele and I often say we\u2019d love to freeze time and keep them at this age.
