The update includes a new native browser, WebXR support, and more. The launch comes as the company rolled out its <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/09\/17\/snaps-extremely-large-spectacles-bring-impressive-ar-to-developers-at-99-a-month\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fifth-generation Snap Spectacles<\/a> for developers last year and plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/10\/snap-plans-to-sell-lightweight-consumer-ar-glasses-in-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launch a consumer version<\/a> sometime in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The release also comes just ahead of Meta\u2019s Connect conference this week, where the company is expected to reveal its latest updates in smart glasses, AI, and other technology. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Snap OS 2.0 introduces a faster browser that\u2019s easier to use, the company says. Snap has optimized page loading speed and power usage to allow users to navigate quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s also a new home screen with widgets and bookmarks, alongside an updated toolbar that lets users type or speak a website URL, navigate history, and refresh the page. Plus, users can now resize windows just like they would on a laptop. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"494\" width=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot-2025-09-15-at-2.30.21PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3045937\"  \/>Image Credits:Snap<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Snap notes that the browser now supports WebXR, allowing users to access augmented reality experiences directly from any WebXR-enabled website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, there\u2019s a new Spotlight Lens that spatially overlays content onto the real world.
