There are more cold days ahead, but Met \u00c9ireann has milder temperatures will arrive by the end of this week.<\/p>\n
It will be another cold start this morning with patches of frost and ice, which will be slow to clear. It will be a bright day with sunshine, though there will be showers in Munster, Connacht and north Ulster.<\/p>\n
Those showers will be a mix of rain, sleet and hail and there could be some snow over higher ground. Highest temperatures will be between 3 and 7C.<\/p>\n
It will be another chilly night as temperatures fall to lows of -2 and 3C, coldest in Ulster counties. Frost and ice patches will develop again, and scattered showers will continue in the north and west.<\/p>\n
Saturday will bring another cold start ahead of a dry, bright day, though there will be some showers in the northwest. In the evening, western areas will see some rain and drizzle, with highs of 4 to 8C.<\/p>\n

7-Day Weather Forecast: January 5th to 11th<\/p>\n
Temperatures will drop to between 0 and 2C in the north and east, but it will turn milder as rain spreads to those areas, bringing temperatures up to between 3 and 7C.<\/p>\n
Towards the end of the week and into the early part of next week, Met \u00c9ireann said there will be wet and windy conditions along with higher temperatures.<\/p>\n
Sunday will be much milder than recent days, and it will be windy with widespread rain, turning heavy at times with a chance of some hail. Highest temperatures range from 8 to 12C.<\/p>\n
A mix of sunshine and showers is forecast for Monday, with longer spells of rain at times and highest temperatures of 8 to 11C.<\/p>\n
