Google<\/a> parent Alphabet<\/a> saw its market capitalization reach $3 trillion Monday (Sept. 15) for the first time.<\/p>\n

The milestone was driven by a revitalization in optimism around artificial intelligence and an antitrust ruling that went in Google\u2019s favor, Reuters reported<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s stock jumped 32% this year, making it the leader among the \u201cMagnificent 7\u201d stocks, the report said. The other six companies are Amazon<\/a>, Apple<\/a>, Meta<\/a>, Microsoft<\/a>, Nvidia<\/a> and Tesla<\/a>. Two of those firms, Apple and Microsoft, have broken the $3 trillion mark, while Nvidia is the world\u2019s most valuable company with a market cap<\/a> of $4.25 trillion.<\/p>\n

Bokeh Capital Partners<\/a> Chief Investment Officer Kim Forrest<\/a> said in the report that tech stocks have led the recent rally and \u201cthere has been no other [sector] in the past 18 months, maybe even two years that has had such excitement from investors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investor sentiment saw a boost earlier this month when a federal judge permitted Google to retain control of its Chrome<\/a> browser and Android mobile operating system, a turning point for the company after years of scrutiny into its dominance in the search and mobile fields, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Although sharing data as part of the ruling will bolster Google\u2019s advertising business rivals<\/a>, not having to offload Chrome or Android takes away a crucial concern for investors who view them as vital pieces of Google\u2019s overall business, the report added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey still are very dependent on search, but with YouTube<\/a>, Waymo<\/a> and other capabilities and products<\/a> they\u2019re working on, investors are starting to see that possibility that this isn\u2019t just a search company anymore, this is a company that\u2019s moving into a lot of other things,\u201d Stock Trader Network<\/a> Chief Strategist Dennis Dick said, per the report.<\/p>\n

The news came days after Google Cloud<\/a> CEO Thomas Kurian<\/a> discussed the company\u2019s AI revenue<\/a> generation thus far.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve made billions using AI already,\u201d Kurian said Tuesday (Sept. 9) at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia and Technology Conference in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur backlog is now at $106 billion; it is growing faster than our revenue,\u201d he added. \u201cMore than 50% of it will convert to revenue over the next two years.\u201d<\/p>\n
