\"\u2018Dhurandhar\u2019: Actor Emraan Hashmi<\/a> has shared his thoughts about the massive success of Aditya Dhar<\/a>\u2019s ‘Dhurandhar’ and called out what he described as the \u201ccrap mentality\u201d prevalent in Hindi cinema.In his latest interview, Emraan reflected on how the industry often reacts to box office wins with negativity instead of pride. His comments came as ‘Dhurandhar’ continued its record-breaking theatrical run. <\/p>\n

Calling out the \u2018crap mentality\u2019<\/p>\n

In an interview with India Today, Emraan did not hold back while addressing the industry\u2019s reaction to successful films, claiming that it has the tendency to pull these films down. Emphasizing that box office victories should be celebrated, not dismissed, he shared, \u201cWhenever a film does a certain amount of business, firstly, you’re happy, but there is a crap mentality in our industry. People like [to] run-down films.\u201dHe added that such thinking hurts everyone in the long run and explained, \u201cI’m of the opinion that if something does well, you should celebrate that\u2026 the more films do well, it gets for the industry, and the cash flow comes in. It helps everyone. So, that crap mentality shouldn’t be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Praising ‘Dhurandhar\u2019 for its audacity and impact<\/p>\n

While Emraan admitted he has not watched ‘Dhurandhar’ yet, he openly admired its scale and ambition. He praised the makers for backing an unusually long film and still drawing crowds. \u201cI think it’s a great film. The marketing of the film, the way it’s… I’ve not seen the film, but it’s audacious when you have two parts like that. And a film that is almost three and a half hours, but it’s doing that kind of business.”He also highlighted how audience response has driven its success. \u201cThe cinema experience would be four hours, but people are going and seeing it at 12 o’clock shows even early in the morning. And that’s the power of cinema and word of mouth. It’s caught on like wildfire.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘Dhurandhar\u2019 box office performance<\/p>\n

Directed by Aditya Dhar, starring Ranveer Singh<\/a>, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. The movie has scripted history by becoming the highest Indian film of all time in a single language. According to numbers released by the film’s team, the film’s domestic earning have shot past the Rs 840 crore mark. Meanwhile, the film’s global total stands at Rs 1,240. The sequel of ‘Dhurandhar’ is slated to release in theatres on March 19.<\/p>\n

Emraan Hashmi\u2019s work slate<\/p>\n

On the professional front, Emraan will next be seen in Neeraj Pandey\u2019s crime drama ‘Taskaree: The Smuggler\u2019s Web’. The series begins streaming on Netflix from January 14.
