Monaghan’s Shane McGuirk has become the latest Irish darts player to earn a PDC tour card after day three at UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Lakeside champion won six games to join compatriot Niall Culleton, who yesterday claimed a much-coveted two-year tour card<\/a>, on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit.<\/p>\n

30-year-old McGuirk averaged almost 94 as he beat England’s Charlie Manby, who reached the last-16 of the 2025\/26 World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace, in the final game.<\/p>\n

“Last year I came in as a world champion and I think I put too much pressure on myself,” he told the PDC.<\/p>\n

“This is incredible. I played well in the first two days but today I was like, ‘this is it’.<\/p>\n

“I’m delighted to do it for me and Amy. I’m absolutely buzzing.<\/p>\n

“I thank everyone at home for believing in me, this is one of the best days of my life.<\/p>\n

“I’m looking forward to coming in and playing against the top lads in the world. We’ve got a good team around us and I think we are going to do well.”<\/p>\n

Carlow’s Steve Lennon was beaten in his first-round game today but sits eighth on the order of merit ahead of tomorrow’s final day where the top five will also win cards.<\/p>\n
