Those who want to see a new government in Ireland to cut immigration and break ties with globalist elites need to \u201creach across the Atlantic\u201d and seek help from the Irish diaspora in the US Maga movement Eddie Hobbs<\/a> told a conference on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The audience for the weekend-long IRL Forum in Ashbourne, Co Meath<\/a>, who had paid \u20ac90 each for a two-day pass or \u20ac50 a day, numbered 300 to 400 on Saturday morning and included US ambassador to Ireland, Edward Walsh.<\/p>\n

Participants in the sessions, which were all moderated by Mr Hobbs, a financial adviser-turned podcaster and campaigner, included Independent Dublin councillor Malachy Steenson, entrepreneur Declan Ganley<\/a> and Independent senator Sharon Keogan.<\/p>\n

The conference was billed as \u201ca solutions-driven public conference\u201d with host Mr Hobbs and guests \u201cspeaking on the issues Ireland faces today\u201d.<\/p>\n

The sessions heard frequent denunciations of immigration<\/a>, \u201cglobalist\u201d influence on government, the mainstream media, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the political establishment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a new government of patriots, not a government of globalists,\u201d barrister Una McGurk told the meeting.<\/p>\n

Ms McGurk predicted Irish people \u201cwill be a minority in our own country\u201d due to the replacement of the native population by immigrants, a popular conspiracy theory among the far-right internationally. <\/p>\n

She said that many new arrivals in the country did not believe in abortion<\/a>, while abortions among the \u201cnative white Irish population\u201d were running at 10,000 a year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Several speakers on Saturday morning warned about the dangers of immigration, which they said was a policy implemented by the Irish Government at the behest of outside influences.<\/p>\n

Jana Lunden, founder of an organisation called the Natural Women\u2019s Council, drew loud applause when she demanded that the Government \u201cclose the borders\u201d, adding \u201cI say this as an immigrant.\u201d<\/p>\n

To applause again, she said Ireland needed to \u201cmake it illegal for politicians to have any ties with the World Economic Forum<\/a>\u201d, a Swiss-based think tank which hosts a conference in Davos<\/a> every year on global issues..<\/p>\n

Several speakers advised people to campaign for change by helping people \u201cawaken\u201d and see the true state of the country. But Mr Steenson said: \u201cWhat we need unfortunately is another economic crash.\u201d<\/p>\n

He condemned Government and Opposition parties alike, saying: \u201cThey\u2019re all globalists, including Sinn F\u00e9in<\/a> … They all want to destroy my country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Lunden said that \u201cwe need to shut the D\u00e1il down … We need to get into Dublin, shut down the streets … We need to do it or the Irish will be extinct. There won\u2019t be an Irish race. It\u2019s gotta happen\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mr Ganley advocated lowering taxes to stop the \u201ctax crucifixion of the Irish working person\u201d. He also advocated for small modular nuclear reactors to supply Ireland energy needs, an idea which also drew some applause.<\/p>\n

Tracey O\u2019Mahony, a barrister, questioned the independence of the judiciary, because all judges were chosen by the Government, she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole system is tainted and until it crumbles from the top down we are not going to see any change,\u201d Ms O\u2019Mahony said.<\/p>\n

Judges in Ireland are appointed by the President acting on the advice of the Government. The independent Judicial Appointments Commission<\/a>, which recommends candidates for the judiciary, began its work last year.<\/p>\n

The conference comes weeks after former White House strategist Steve Bannon<\/a> said he had been helping to form an Irish \u201cnational party\u201d as he worked \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d on what he described as \u201cthe Irish situation\u201d, he said in an interview <\/a>with Politico news. <\/p>\n

Mr Hobbs has featured on Mr Bannon\u2019s War Room podcast. \u201cThe mainstream media is the North Korea of Europe,\u201d Mr Hobbs told Mr Bannon when he appeared on his show last June and was asked to explain why there was no major populist right-wing movement in Ireland.<\/p>\n
