Lisa Faulkner<\/a> says she has issued a warning to her daughter, after she expressed an interest in following in her showbiz footsteps. The 53-year-old actress is mum to Billie, 19, who she adopted at 17 months old with her ex-husband Chris Coghill.<\/p>\n Speaking about her daughter in a new interview, Lisa said: “She goes travelling a lot. I don’t see her for weeks, then she’s back. She hasn’t left home quite yet, thank goodness.”<\/p>\n During the same chat, the actress said Billie has shown an interest in becoming an actress, but she was quick to discourage her.<\/p>\n “I’m like, ‘No keep away from the acting’. I think it can be a great thing, though it’s very up and down but if she wants to do it, she can,” she told Hello! Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lisa has enjoyed a long acting career, with roles in shows including Brookside, Holby City, Spooks, Burn It, Murder in Suburbia, New Street Law, Murdoch Mysteries, EastEnders<\/a> and The Girl Before.<\/p>\n Last year, she also appeared as part of a star-studded cast in Harlan Coben\u2019s Netflix<\/a> drama Missing You.<\/p>\n John Torode and Lisa Faulkner front an ITV cooking show together (Image: ITV)<\/p>\n More recently, she is starring in the stage adaptation of the 90s psychological thriller Single White Female. Sharing how her husband, John Torode<\/a>, has supported her, Lisa said: “He’s been running through the lines with me. He’s so happy for me.”<\/p>\n Alongside her acting work, she regularly appears on ITV<\/a> with her spouse on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.<\/p>\n “I feel very lucky,” she gushed. “He’s my husband and my best mate. We really do support each other and hold each other’s hands through everything. He’s such a gentleman and so kind.”<\/p>\n Lisa’s comments come after John was dropped from MasterChef after a complaint accusing him of using “an extremely offensive racist term” was upheld.<\/p>\n Addressing the matter in a statement, the chef said he had “no recollection” of what he was accused of and added: “I want to be clear that I’ve always had the view that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.<\/p>\n Lisa Faulkner pictured with her daughter Billie in 2011 (Image: )<\/p>\n “I’m shocked and saddened by the allegation as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence.”<\/p>\n Despite the controversy, John has continued to appear on television, including ITV\u2019s This Morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, according to The Sun, he and Lisa are now “facing a nervous wait” over the future of their cooking show<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The commissioning team have still not made a decision.
