Borderline, the comedy-thriller starring Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson, has landed a new streaming<\/a> home in the UK. After being praised for its “unpredictable” plot, this is a fun watch for the weekend.<\/p>\n

The film, which is the feature debut from writer-director Jimmy Warden, sees Nicholson portray Paul Duerson, a lonely figure in 1990s Los Angeles who becomes obsessed with pop star Sofia Minor (Weaving). <\/p>\n

Due to his concerning obsession, Paul gets delusions of grandeur and invades Sofia’s home, with the situation getting darker as he keeps her captive in a bid to tie the knot. With Sofia’s life on the line, can she escape in time?<\/p>\n

Originally released in the US in March, Borderline is available to stream in the UK on both Sky Cinema<\/a> and NOW<\/a>. You will need a subscription for both services; Sky Cinema<\/a> is currently priced at \u00a310 per month, while NOW’s<\/a> full package is on sale at \u00a311.98 per month.<\/p>\n

Featuring Eric Dane and Alba Baptista in supporting roles, the comedy-thriller received lukewarm reviews from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> currently reporting a mixed approval rating of 59% from 61 reviews. <\/p>\n

“Elevated by Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson’s performances to a point, this fun-enough romp eventually finds itself on the Borderline,” reads the site’s critical consensus.<\/p>\n

“Even with [several] flaws… a brilliant central performance by Ray Nicholson keeps viewers glued to the screen,” wrote Joe.ie<\/a>, while Decider<\/a> dubbed it a “gore-tastic riot” that was “plain fun to watch”.<\/p>\n

SciFiNow<\/a> was also full of praise, writing: “Borderline thrives on its audacity. It\u2019s not subtle, but it\u2019s so much fun. For those in the mood for something stylish, unpredictable, and just the right amount of insane, this will hit all the right notes \u2013 literally.”<\/p>\n
