\n Limerick City and County Council have received multiple shortlistings at LAMA All-Ireland Community and Council Awards 2026\n <\/p>\n
The Council had a number of its community-focused projects, and it\u2019s nominated community volunteer, shortlisted for the LAMA All-Ireland Community and Council Awards 2026.<\/p>\n
The awards are sponsored by IPB Insurance and delivered in partnership with LAMA – the Local Authority Members Association.<\/p>\n
They represent the very best of civic pride, innovation, community spirit and volunteerism; the shortlisted nominations showcase the breadth and vibrancy of local initiatives underway across Limerick.<\/p>\n
Limeric’s Going for Gold is shortlisted in the Best Green Sustainable Initiative category. The flagship community environmental programme celebrates and supports citizen\u2011led action in sustainability, biodiversity, the circular economy and local environmental enhancement.<\/p>\n
It is delivered by Limerick City and County Council in partnership with local communities, the JP McManus Charitable Foundation provides substantial financial support through prize funds and environmental improvement grants.<\/p>\n
Helen O\u2019Donnell has been nominated by Limerick City and County Council in the\u00a0Community Volunteer of the Year category.\u00a0Helen is a longstanding advocate for community improvement and environmental stewardship in Limerick. As Chair of Limerick City Tidy Towns and co-founder of Team Limerick Clean-Up, Helen\u2019s leadership has driven hundreds of volunteers to transform public spaces and foster civic pride across the city and county.<\/p>\n
The Council’s Active Travel Interactive Map is nominated in the Best Community Transport Initiative. This innovative digital tool from Limerick City and County Council promotes sustainable travel options, helping residents and visitors explore safe and accessible walking and cycling routes throughout the region.<\/p>\n
Best Use of Technology & Innovation in Local Government sees Co-Plan, Keeping Limerick on Track recognised. Co-Plan is Limerick City and County Council\u2019s digital platform to co-ordinate planning, engagement and service delivery.<\/p>\n
