Despite suggesting he wanted the “backstabbing” to “stop,” Kody was quick to throw jabs once the interviews began<\/p>\n
Kody went after Meri for being “antagonistic” and doubled down on his claim that Janelle tried to force the sale of Coyote Pass from under Meri<\/p>\n
Kody Brown admitted that he felt hesitant going into his tell-all interview for Sister Wives season 20.<\/p>\n
Before venturing to Scottsdale, Ariz., for his one-on-one interview with Sukanya \u201cSuki\u201d Krishnan, Kody lamented how difficult he felt the interviews had become, confessing that each year they seemed to be \u201charder than the year before.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kody also revealed that he gave the interviews a \u201cspecial nickname\u201d: the “chicken s— chit chat.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels like its constantly swimming upstream,\u201d he said standing alongside wife Robyn outside of their home in Flagstaff, Ariz. \u201cI’m tired of the antagonistic discussion. I’m tired of the .. throwing the accusations from at each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
In fact, Kody \u2014 who recently completed an apology tour with his ex wives \u2014 insisted he wanted the \u201cbackstabbing\u201d to \u201cstop.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have began a forgiveness, I hope, and I don’t want to undo that and right now,\u201d Kody explained, noting that the situation was \u201cvery fragile.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Kody was quick to throw jabs once the interviews began, first accusing his ex-wives, Janelle and Meri specifically, of playing \u201cgirl games\u201d with him and Robyn.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ve had them trashing me for over a year,\u201d he said, later calling that an example of the \u201cgirl games.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kody then accused Meri of being \u201cantagonistic all the time\u201d and claimed she stopped communicating with him after he expressed that he did not like her best friend, Jen.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt’s a verboten for me to insult Jen anymore,\u201d Kody told Suki, later adding, \u201cMeri will murder me if I talk bad about her friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the episode, Kody took aim at Janelle, accusing her once again of concocting a plan to try and sell Coyote Pass out from under Meri.<\/p>\n
\u201cJanelle just wanted to be paid,\u201d Kody said, but suggested he felt they did not need to rush the sale.<\/p>\n
After watching clips of himself and Janelle playing \u201che-said, she said\u201d in their confessionals about the matter, Kody suggested Janelle was \u201cmisrepresenting the situation and insisted \u201cit wasn\u2019t my idea.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kody felt as though Janelle was \u201cpressuring\u201d him into selling the property out from under Meri, which he described as a \u201cvery typical plural marriage situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was backstabby of Janelle,\u201d he argued. When Suki commented that Kody may have also been acting in a \u201cbackstabby\u201d manner, Kody pushed back. \u201cI was already at a war with Meri! I wasn\u2019t partnering with Meri \u2026 I wasn\u2019t sucking up to Meri all the time. Janelle didn\u2019t care, she just wanted to get her money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Janelle vehemently denied Kody\u2019s framing of the situation. \u201cLook, all I can do is be responsible for what I know I said,\u201d she explained to Suki. \u201cI can’t be responsible for how they perceived [it] or what they think.\u201d<\/p>\n
Still, Kody insisted that the blame for the plan should be place squarely on Janelle\u2019s shoulders, noting that she was the \u201cmanager of books\u201d for the family.<\/p>\n
\u201cJanelle plays me all the time because I loved her \u2014 and might still \u2014 and I want her approval,\u201d Kody asserted. \u201cYeah, that\u2019s my mistake. My bad. When she calls, I start jumping.\u201d<\/p>\n
