January 12 2026<\/p>\n<p>BusConnects corridors begin construction<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">The first BusConnects corridor, from the city centre to Liffey Valley, is due to begin construction shortly, after the contract was awarded to GMC Group in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">It will be followed by the Ballymun-Finglas to city centre corridor, for which site investigations began last month. It is expected to go to construction later this year.<\/p>\n<p>A revamped harbour in D\u00fan Laoghaire<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">D\u00fan Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council (DLR) will move ahead with its plans to revitalise the pier in D\u00fan Laoghaire as a \u201cliving harbour\u201d, which will bring changes in the waterfront including parks, better connectivity and housing \u2013 while promoting tourism and the cruising season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">After the draft harbour master plan received more than 600 submissions last year, the final plan is expected to be out this month. Photo: Irish Air Corps<\/p>\n<p>Innovation hub in Tallaght<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">South Dublin County Council\u2019s (SDCC) plans to regenerate Tallaght and Clondalkin will progress this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">The council aims to build Tallaght into a high-density \u201cinnovation hub\u201d with a new centre at Tallaght University Hospital, increased seating in Tallaght Stadium and 5,000 new homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"indo-ebe0ecc6_root indo-ebe0ecc6_paragraph indo-300db776_none indo-91174671_primary indo-1d70522a_marginbottom5 indo-1d70522a_margintop0 indo-b48c4984_inherit\" style=\"color:var(--color-primary-80)\">It will also improve connectivity between Tallaght and Clondalkin with a cycle scheme linking Belgard Road and Airton Road.
